and I’d rather know a brother that exists, that could be family, than never know. How long have you been in Silver Springs?”
“A few months. I came to visit and liked the town, plus I kept chickening out of talking to you, so I got a job at the Devil’s Pit. It’s cheaper living out here than in the city, so I thought I’d take an extended leave of absence so to speak. Plus, I was having trouble finding work as a dancer, since I’m aging out of the job. Who knew that thirty was considered too old to dance? Fuck. I promise I’m not a complete loser. I just hit a rough patch is all.”
“How do you know we have the same father? Have you met him? Do you have a demon side? Sorry, now I’m the one blurting things out.” Buttercup smiled softly, and Magnus stroked a hand from the nape of her neck down her back, and from the pink that suddenly suffused her cheeks, I figured he probably grabbed her ass as well.
“He visited me as a kid a couple times and mentioned my half-siblings. I think he was hoping that I would be more like him, but I’m not. I am an incubus, but I don’t fully transform or anything. My skin turns red on my hands and one side of my face, it actually makes it look like I’m on fire, which would be cool if it didn’t freak so many people out. I don’t have to have sex to feed either, I can just draw energy from a crowd, which is one of the reasons I love performing. If I do it right, it’s an all-I-can-eat buffet. Anyway, I heard a rumor from some other demons that a succubus had come into her powers, so I checked in with dear old dad about it and he thought he remembered having a few daughters, so he wasn’t surprised. When he gave me a rundown of every woman he’d used and abandoned when they got pregnant, it was disgusting but helpful. We have a few other half-siblings out there, but a lot of us die as children apparently. It’s something about the demon blood only being able to bond with certain other types of blood. I don’t really understand it all, but I’m glad we made it.” I smiled and suddenly felt exhausted. This was an emotional rollercoaster.
“Wow. I honestly don’t even know what to say to that. My mother never explained any of it. Hell, I didn’t even know my father was a demon until last year. When I found my mates, everything changed. I hope it does for you as well when you find someone special.” Buttercup glanced at Neve.
“We’re not together. I don’t even know her. I might like to though. She is beautiful and kind. When she touched my hand earlier, it felt like electricity jolted through me in a good way. Plus, she has amazing tits. Oh my god, why can’t I stop?” I felt the heat run over my skin and was sure that my demon side was showing. “Everything is going wrong,” I mumbled a moment before clapping my hand over my mouth, so at least if I tried to talk, it would be muffled.
When I dared to look over at Neve, I saw her grinning and looking down at her chest, which only made me want to smile. This woman had to be used to having men fall at her feet as soon as they recognized her for the goddess she was, though I didn’t mean literal goddess. Instead, she was looking down at her boobs as though I’d just given her the best compliment.
“You’re beautiful, and I’d love to bend you over this display case to show you exactly how I would worship that amazing body of yours.” It was what my mouth tried to say, but thankfully with my hand covering it, the words didn’t sound like anything specific.
“Can I get a dozen of your donuts, please? Whatever kind. I don’t mind,” Neve said during the break in conversation, or rather the break in my word vomit.
“Of course,” Buttercup said before pulling out a box and beginning to pack it full of delicious looking donuts.
“Oh and some macarons. Say, a dozen of those as well.”
Buttercup nodded and began filling a separate box with those. The whole time, I just looked on, like they hadn’t just gone completely back to normal while I was still struggling
