of it rocked through my body, making my pussy clamp down around Rory’s cock and pushing him over the edge into his own orgasm until we were both twitching and gasping as we collapsed on the bed.
“Fuck,” I breathed out after we’d been lying there a little while.
“I’m going to need another couple minutes before that,” Rory replied, tossing a wink in my direction.
I chuckled and rolled into him, resting my head on his shoulder. For some reason, I knew that he was serious when he claimed it would only take him a couple more minutes before he was ready to go again. I wasn’t sure my pussy could handle another round like that so soon, but I was willing to give it a try, you know, for research purposes or whatever.

Even though my body had been exhausted after Rory’s attentions, I had only been able to sleep for a little while, my mind buzzing far too much to get a full eight hours, which was unusual for me anyway. I’d spent most of the night up researching Silver Springs, everything I could find out about it, which was easier since I lived here now and I knew what to look for. I even downloaded and used Screech for the first time, which was interesting.
I’d even gone so far as to pull up the population data for the town, so that I could see how big a project my idea would be, which was when I found something I hadn’t expected. The human population of Silver Springs had been decreasing, and not only that, but there had been more supes moving to the town as well. I wasn’t sure how this had been missed by the mayor or whoever paid attention to that kind of stuff, but it was concerning.
The more supernatural beings congregated in one place, the more they needed humans to balance them out. If it was just a town full of supes, then they could say goodbye to any kind of normalcy, because even humans could sense that much undiluted magic in one place and that would set the conspiracy theorists going even more than they already were. Believe me, I’d read enough theories about what actually went on in Silver Springs to make my head spin. Everything from aliens to yetis to mermaids.
If the town wanted to stop those theories from getting too far out of control, or worse, too accurate, then they would need to figure out how to up the human population and dilute the magic concentration. If the Silver Springs Gazette was the human newspaper, then it was more likely to be read by humans and possibly encourage them to move to Silver Springs. If we could do that? Then the town would owe the paper a debt.
I’d spent all morning thinking about how we could make it work. How could a paper bring humans to live in Silver Springs? I thought some well written pieces that were tweaked with magic could do the trick, along with some advertisements for things that everyone loved, or at least what people who were likely to move to a small town would look for.
The only problem was that I had no idea why people would move to a small town.
I’d left a note for Rory, who was sleeping in my bed, promising to meet him for lunch if he wanted. Sure, I felt a little bad for basically sneaking out, but I wanted to get to the office early to have a couple things ready to go before I spoke with Seren about my ideas. Luckily, Jewels Cafe had been open early, and I’d managed to snag myself a coffee to help keep me going.
The dark, life-affirming liquid slipped down my throat like fire, and I didn’t care so long as the caffeine did what it promised. I had everything pulled up on my laptop and ready to go when Seren walked in. Something had told me he was usually the first one in and last one out for the paper. It wasn’t that the other staff weren’t dedicated, but he’d almost taken ownership over the paper, which was partially why I thought he disliked me. I was claiming ownership over something he already saw as his, even if he wouldn’t admit that.
“Good morning.” I raised my coffee cup and took a sip, watching his eyes go wide when he saw me. I could almost swear there was a split-second of excitement in them before they
