would have had you committed,” I retort.
Always ready with a comeback, Taylor says, “This is what happens when you fall in love with a single mom.”
Laughing, we don’t say another word. It’s true. Falling in love with a single mom did lead me here. To a place I never knew I deserved. Beyond the poor choices of my childhood and the reputation she carried for years, Felicity and I have come out of it all stronger and thankful for each blessing sent our way.
Downing the last of my beer, I turn and glimpse the men next to me. The men who have stood by me in war and in life. My family. I’m a lucky son of a bitch to have these men in my life. But mostly, I’m lucky in life because of the woman beckoning to join her on the dance floor.
As I stride toward her, I hear nothing but laughter and happiness around me. When I reach the dance floor, I offer my wife my hand and the moment she touches her palm to mine, I know I’m home. Not just in this town but with her. In this life we are building and the future we are creating.
I have all of this because I love her.
From the Author
Thank you for taking the time to read Love Her. Four years ago, I released a book that would change my life. Whiskey & Honey began a journey for me but also the residents of the fictional small town, Lexington. Early on in the writing process of that first book, I met a character who was cruel, and her words were full of venom. Felicity Remington-Thorne was the small town’s mean girl and over the course of the next 8 books, she didn’t change. I knew deep down there was a reason. Like Felicity says in Love Her - hurt people hurt people. I wanted to tell that story and I’m so happy that I did.
If you’re new to Felicity and how she came full circle, I invite you to start at the beginning with Whiskey & Honey.
Have you met everyone in Lexington? If you’re looking for another small town romance, try It Was Always You. This standalone is a childhood friends to lovers romance with a twist!

As I type this section of Love Her I am full of emotions. Saying goodbye to these characters and this town is bittersweet. There are so many people I want to thank but I’m going to keep it short and sweet. Alyssa Garcia and Stacy Garcia. Thank you. Thank you for taking a chance on a new author and becoming two of my biggest supporters and the greatest of friends. You encouraged me to chase my dreams and fell in love with this town alongside me. I will never be able to express my thanks enough.
Alyssa, we’ve come so far from that first cover. I say it with every book but this one. Girl. You knocked it out of the park and then some. It’s beautiful and everything I could ever hope it to be.
Megan Addison. I would be lost without you. You keep me sane and focused. You support me when I need it most but above it all, you believe in me and my work and that is something I can never repay. Thank you.
Karen L. You continue to teach me and guide me and I am forever grateful. Your patience with my overuse of words and lack of commas is something to be admired. I appreciate you always.
M.E. Carter. I am grateful for many things, but your friendship is high on that list. Thank you for indulging me, accepting me, and caring for me. I may not say it enough, but I love you to the moon and you will forever be my spirit animal.
Suzie. Thank you for the pep talks and long phone calls. You are the best and my blurbs wouldn't be what they are without you!
Misty D. You are a blessing and I am honored to call you friend. Thank you for taking the time and chance on Connor and Felicity.
Kayla B. Thank you for your eagle eyes and attention to detail.
Marisol S. We both know I love being right. I DID IT! I made you love Felicity! Thank you for reading and helping me polish this story.
Bloggers and Bookstagrammers– THANK YOU for always supporting indie and being rockstars!
READERS!!!! Gah. There are no words. Thank you for choosing to spend time with my stories and characters. I appreciate you and hope to meet you all one day!
To my husband – You inspire the best of book boyfriends. I love you today and always. Here’s to many more taco nights and cocktails in the driveway.
To my sons – I love you both more than words. You are amazing young men and I am proud of all you have and will accomplish. Make good choices.
Finally, Mr. Luke Bryan. Thank you for a song that inspired a scene of two people taking a selfie in a bar. That song. That moment. It inspired a series that changed my life.
