cuddled against me, and I wrapped my arm around her waist. My woman might not have the in-your-face strength Jordan did, but she was pretty damn perfect. With everything she’d suffered, it amazed me she’d even tried to talk to Sean, point out the error of his ways. Might not have been a fist to the face, which would have likely been Jordan’s method, but she hadn’t backed down.
Now I just needed to take care of the fuckers trying to take her from me, because no one was going to steal my wife and daughter.
Chapter Seven
Kraken
Instead of calling Church, once the women and kids were safe, Titan met with all of us in the main room of the clubhouse. Even the Prospects needed to hear his plan. He leaned against the bar, ankles and arms crossed, as he surveyed the room. I stood at his side with the VP. I got the feeling the Sadistic Saints would strike again, and it was coming soon.
“I appreciate all of you coming here,” Titan said. “While we did want Kraken’s woman to feel like she wasn’t alone, you know there’s more going on. The Sadistic Saints want her back.”
“When you say back…” Cowboy trailed off. “We don’t know the entire story. What are we getting involved in?”
I glanced at the Pres before taking a step forward. “Phoebe’s family sold her to the Sadistic Saints. They raped and tortured her, treated her like a whore. I not only got her out of there, but I claimed her. And I left a little message for them by way of killing their Pres.”
Titan snorted. “And he carved his message on the man’s torso.”
“Nice!” Havoc grinned.
“Only you’d get excited over something like that,” Rocky said.
“The point is I won’t back down. Phoebe is mine, and I’ll be damned if I let those bastards get her back,” I said. “She was scared, abused, and treated like garbage. I don’t even want to think of what they’d do to Ember if they had the chance.”
“Do you really think they’ll come here and try to take her? It’s one thing to attempt to lure her out of here, but to actually enter the compound and snatch her is another matter,” Rocket said.
“They’ve let us know they want her back,” Titan said. “Since we aren’t dropping her on their doorstep, they’ll show up sooner or later.”
“You reinforced this place after Slider came here with his woman,” Rocket said. “There’s no way they’ll get past your security. Or manage to get into the bunker. You’ll need something to lure them into at least trying, or you’ll have to leave a weak spot where they can breach the compound.”
I scowled at Rocket. “We’re not using my woman as bait.”
He lifted his hands. “Didn’t say you needed to. But with this place locked up like Fort Knox, there’s no fucking way they’ll get inside. Kind of hard to take them down if we’re in here and they’re out there.”
“So we leave a weak spot,” Titan said.
“What about the south corner?” Gravel asked. “It’s far enough from the bunker. We could deactivate the cameras on that end, or at least make it look like they’re not working, and make sure anyone patrolling the area does it at easily timed intervals. It would give them plenty of time to break in.”
“I’m on it,” Wizard said. “I’ll have those cameras taken care of within the hour. I’ll even head over that way, give them a good once-over to make it look like they’re broken. I can be convincing.”
“I’ll make a patrol schedule,” I said. “I want at least one Prospect to head down into the bunker until this is over. Everyone else, it’s all hands on deck.”
Brick snorted. “You’re not in the Navy anymore, Kraken. We aren’t on a fucking ship.”
I flipped him off. It was no secret I’d been in the military, but only a select few knew I’d been a Naval aviator. When my brothers heard I’d been in the Navy, with my penchant for killing off our problems, they’d dubbed me Kraken. Except I hadn’t struck from the depths of the sea, I’d taken out enemies by air.
“If there’s anything you need to take care of, any last-minute tasks in case this shit goes south, I suggest you do it now,” Titan said. “These sick fucks will fight dirty, and they won’t be trying to just knock us out. They’ll want to remove us from the equation permanently.”
“How many chapters do those bastards have?”
