How to Marry Your Frenemy - London Casey Page 0,107

in crime, but after all the Vince stuff went down, I didn’t want the word crime anywhere near me.

Vince was finally gone. For good.

Jackson got the company his father started, the way it should have been.

The company he and I started together was gaining traction so I stayed there.

Our lives were as chaotic as ever, but that was the point of it all.

“Harry is waiting,” Misha said. “I have the financials in a folder. Be careful. He’s trying to hide that he had investors come through five years ago.”

“He’s already shelled out equity and now wants more,” I said.

“Yeah. He’s a shark. Sad, because his company is great. He’s got something going. But his books are terrible.”

I opened the conference room door and smiled big.

“Harry,” I said.

“Callie.”

Harry had a big smile and thin hair and looked like he was going to try and sell you something you didn’t need.

“I’m glad we’re finally doing this,” he said. “I just wanted to say-”

“How much equity have you given up already?” I asked.

“What?”

“Don’t play the game. Just be straight with me.”

Harry swallowed hard. He slipped his hands into his pockets. “Well then.”

“I don’t fuck around,” I said.

“I can see that. Five years ago we hit a snag with some patents. I had to take on an investor. I gave up five percent. It got us through.”

“And they want to stick around?” I asked.

“There’s potential.”

“You know you’re going to lose your pants in this deal, right?”

Harry grinned. “Your husband was a little nicer.”

“My husband?”

“Jackson…”

“Yeah, I know who my husband is. You talked to him?”

“Had a meeting yesterday,” Harry said.

“Really?” I asked. I smiled. “Okay. Let’s talk business then.”

I opened the folder and mentally cursed Jackson.

My husband wasn’t going to make it out of our marriage alive.

I opened the main office door and pointed at Jackson.

He hung up his call and put his hands up.

“You fucker,” I said. “You talked to Harry.”

“So?”

“He’s mine. You knew that. Are you fucking kidding me?”

“It’s just business, sweetie,” Jackson said. He moved around his desk. “He’s got a hell of a business. Some dirty deals that will haunt him, but the upside is great. Plus, a lot of it is community based. That’s my angle.”

“That’s my angle,” I said. “If you ever do that again, I’ll cut your balls off.”

“See, that’s the problem… the businesswoman Callie wants to cut my balls off. But the wife Callie would never do anything to hurt my balls. She loves my balls.”

“You’re a dick,” I snapped.

“Come on, you love competing with me still,” Jackson said. “Admit it.”

I fought the urge to smile and lost. “Yeah…”

He moved closer to me. “I’m going to come after your ass all the time, Callie. In the business world, I’m going to steal your clients. In the bedroom, I just want your ass.”

“You’re playing a dangerous game, Jackson,” I warned.

“I know,” he said. He touched my face and stroked my cheeks. “So how’s your day going?”

“Besides some asshole trying to poach my deals? It’s been okay.”

“I’m sorry about that,” Jackson said. “Sounds like you need a break.”

“I could use a break,” I said.

He moved his hands to my ass. His fingers started to curl, pulling my dress up.

Slowly, he turned and sat me on the desk.

He lowered himself down and looked between my legs.

“No panties,” he whispered. “Fuck, Callie…”

I put my foot to his chest. “Look at me, Jackson.”

“What?” he asked.

“I love you,” I said.

“I love you so much, it’s sick,” he said. “Now stop talking so I can make you come.”

I sucked in a breath and put my head back.

His tongue glided up and down between my legs.

I loved competing with him over business matters… but when it came to this…

He could always win the battle.

Because when he made me come, we both won.

Jackson

I tucked Callie in and kissed her bare shoulder.

I moved the hair out of her face.

The smile on my face actually hurt.

She made me smile all the time.

I wasn’t used to it.

I snuck out of the bedroom and poured myself a drink.

Tonight we were in my apartment.

We were still doing the double apartment thing.

It was fun. It worked. We both had leases we didn’t want to break.

Plus, life had been busy over the last while.

Callie and I worked hard to get the new company off the ground.

The shit with Vince got really interesting.

He begged to not go to jail.

I had no problem watching his fat ass get hauled off to jail. But if that happened, my father’s company was going to collapse. I had
