His Apprehensive Mate - Brea Alepou Page 0,77
it around his face, covering his mouth and nose as he grabbed the offending bottle and tossed it into the trash. He tied the trash bag.
“Morgan, what happened?” Kenny asked, looking around at the bathroom.
Now that Morgan had gotten rid of the disgusting shampoo, he noticed the huge mess he’d made. There was crap everywhere. Why the hell had he done that? He should have put everything away after smelling it, but he’d left things scattered all over the bathroom.
“I…” Morgan looked around in utter disbelief. His eyes stung as tears welled up. It was too much. He’d destroyed it and made such a mess.
Kenny was there pulling Morgan into a hug, running his fingers through his hair soothingly. Morgan had no idea why he was crying; he just knew that there was a mess and he was the cause of it. Kenny stood there with him for a moment as Morgan slowly collected himself. He breathed in Kenny’s scent, one that never made him feel sick. It had the opposite effect on him. It made him calm and happy.
“Now do you want to tell me what’s wrong and what happened in here?” Kenny asked.
He wiped away Morgan’s tears ever so gently.
“There was a smell and it was gross, and I had to get rid of it. It was horrible, like smelling garbage—no, worse. But I couldn’t find it, and so I had to smell everything, and then I found it,” His thoughts were all over the place, and his explanation was no better.
There was a worried look on Kenny’s face.
“Were you going to take a shower?” Kenny asked, gesturing to Morgan’s half-undressed state.
Morgan’s cheeks heated. “No, I was really hot.”
Kenny quirked an eyebrow. “What about now?”
“Not really.”
Kenny stood there staring at him for a bit with a hint of wonderment in his eyes. “Anything else wrong?”
Morgan shook his head but stopped. “I threw up, but I really think it’s because the shampoo smelled gross.”
Kenny opened his mouth but promptly closed it. “Okay, well, how about I clean this up and you take a bath. Maybe it will help you.”
“But there is so much to do. We only have two days before we go meet Ava’s principal and teachers. We’ve only spoken on the phone, and I just want her to like her school and to have friends. And get a good educatio—”
Kenny stopped Morgan from talking with a kiss. It was way too short for Morgan’s liking.
“You are worrying yourself too much,” Kenny said.
“Do you think that’s why I’m sick?”
Kenny’s head tilted to the side in thought as he started the bath.
“Possibly. Let’s see after the meeting if all of this goes away.”
Morgan took his pants and briefs off and put them in the dirty laundry basket. Kenny helped him into the tub, and Morgan instantly sighed as the not too hot water covered his body. He rested his head on the small bath pillow and closed his eyes, listening to Kenny straighten up.
Soft caresses against his head had Morgan opening his eyes, and he looked up at Kenny.
“Feeling better?”
Morgan nodded, and Kenny helped him out of the tub. Morgan looked around, the bathroom back to its pristine state. He felt bad he’d made the mess and freaked out and Kenny had to clean it up.
“Come on, Piglet. Why don’t you get some sleep,” Kenny suggested.
Morgan dried himself off. He was feeling a little needy, and the thought of a nap sounded nice, but not as nice as one with Kenny.
“Will you lie with me?”
“Yes, but I’ll be getting some work done while you rest.”
Morgan was fine with that as long as he got to cuddle with his mate. Morgan got into bed, and Kenny joined him, settling his laptop on his lap. Morgan sighed and relaxed against the pillow. His leg swung over Kenny’s, a habit he doubted he’d stop anytime soon. He wiggled his arm around Kenny’s waist.
“Comfortable?”
Morgan’s eyes were already closing. Why in the world was he so sleepy? He must really be stressed.
“Yeah.”
Kenny ran his fingers through Morgan’s hair, and there was no way Morgan could possibly fight sleep now. He tried opening his eyes, but it was futile; he was already half-asleep. He muttered a “love you” and was sure he heard Kenny say it back as he fell asleep.
“Do you have the paperwork?” Morgan asked.
Kenny checked the folder one more time just to make sure, and sure enough, he did. Adoption papers took a while, but for now they had a document stating
