went along for the ride.”
She grabbed her shirt, shaking her head. “You didn’t ‘just’ go along for anything. You directed the whole thing.”
He winked at her when she tried to snap her bra back into place. “Hey, I haven’t tied you up. Yet.”
She stopped trying to dress to look at him, her mind thinking of that option and her eyes telegraphed her interest.
He laughed and pulled her closer. “But maybe that will happen sooner rather than later,” he told her. “I do like being in charge and in control.”
She laughed, but it was filled with another surge of need so the sound probably came out a bit weaker than she’d intended. In fact, the idea was so tempting, her fingers could barely hook her bra.
“Why not just go without it?” he suggested, but his hands pushed hers away and did the snap for her. “I would enjoy sitting across the table from you without this contraption holding you tight.”
She blushed at the idea. “That would be embarrassing.”
He grabbed her hips. “You’re thinking about what others might think of you. I’m going to teach you to live for the moment, Kate. You’re going to stop worrying about what others think and just live for yourself. Or for me,” he said with a smack on her bottom. “You can live just for me and my pleasure. I would whole heartedly approve of that.”
She couldn’t stifle her laughter at his teasing but she did manage to finally dress herself. She was just putting on her shoes, having forgone her stockings since they were in shreds from his hands. In fact, she didn’t have any underwear either.
“I have an idea of something I would dearly love to do after dinner if you’re willing.” He was watching her stuff her underwear and her stockings into her tote, pushing everything down lower so they were hidden by the reports.
“What’s that?” she asked, bending down carefully to stack all the reports she’d been about to study tonight back at their hotel.”
“Do you trust me?” he asked.
Her head looked up at him and she considered his words carefully. “Yes. I think I do.” That in itself was a startling revelation. She’d have to think about that a bit more, play around with the idea. Trust Davis? Did she really? The more she thought about it, she realized it was true.
“Good,” he replied and grabbed her hand. “Leave those for tomorrow. You’re going to be too busy tonight to work.”
She happily left the papers as well as her tote bag, just grabbing her purse and followed him out. He took her to a small, intimate restaurant down by the harbor and they watched the stars while sipping white wine and dining on the best fish in a creamy white sauce she’d ever tasted.
After dinner, he led her down one of the streets lined with expensive boutiques. He gazed into each one and Kate had no idea what they were doing here until he nodded and pulled her into one of them. “This one will work,” he said.
She started to pull back but he just shook his head. “No Kate. You promised that you’d let me do this. Now I’m holding you to your word.” When she continued to resist going into the expensive shoe store, he simply walked over to her and kissed her. “Here’s the deal. I’ve fantasized about you wearing sexy black heels on those long legs of yours for a long time. Tonight, I’m going to make that fantasy real. Then I’m going to bring you back to the hotel and strip off all of your clothes except for those heels and I’m going to make love to you until you can’t see straight. Do you have any objections to that plan?” he asked.
Kate stared up at him, her breathing ragged as he painted a picture of something so sensual, so erotic, she could only nod her head in agreement.
“Good. Now come with me. I’m in charge, remember?”
She let him lead her inside and sit her down in one of the soft chairs. He then gestured to the saleswoman, telling her exactly what he wanted. A few minutes later, she was surrounded by about ten boxes of shoes, all with heels so impossibly high, she was certain she would never be able to walk in them.
“I can’t do this,” she laughed when Davis slipped a pair of black stilettos onto her feet and pulled her up out of the chair. “I can’t walk in these.”
“Try it,”
