A long time later, Davis softly nuzzled her neck, evoking a feminine chuckle that he felt all the way down to his toes. “I love hearing you laugh,” he told her, biting her ear.

She looked up at him, feeling the afterglow and something stronger swell up within her. “I laugh,” she said, thinking that he just hadn’t heard her recently.
