Hello My Angel - Sue Brown Page 0,57
a tablet.
Josh smirked at him and Gil flipped him off.
“Okay, which properties has he managed to eliminate?” Cal asked.
Gil went to Max’s workstation. He highlighted three points east of London just outside the M25. “These ones are isolated.”
“That would make them good places to hide somebody,” Cal pointed out.
“True, but she’s not stopped attacking the whole time she’s had Weatherly. That would be a hell of a lot of driving to do.”
Josh hummed as he looked at the map. “Why don’t you get Gideon’s girls to check those places out?” He could see the reluctance on Cal’s face. “These women are assassins, Charlie. You’re not sending in your cleaner.”
Cal glowered at him for a moment but then he nodded reluctantly. “Dave, can you send them the details? Make sure you warn them how serious it is.”
“They aren’t stupid,” Josh said. “They lost Sir Gee and Chopper. Give them a chance to get justice for them.”
“If that’s meant to reassure me, Angel, it isn’t working.”
Gil faded out the three properties which left eight more to look at. “Four of these addresses are being remodeled because Weatherly was planning to sell them.”
“We’ll look at those tomorrow. I’ve got the feeling our Chyna was not a camping out kind of gal,” Cal said.
Josh agreed, Moles had always been immaculately dressed. “And that leaves four.”
Cal studied the map. “All four properties are centered in the south of London. Which one did Weatherly stay at the most? We’ll go there first.”
“According to the list, one of them is what she called her family home, but it isn’t her official residence,” Gil said.
Josh thought it would suit Chyna’s sick little mind to torture Lucinda in her own home. Particularly one she shared with her husband.
Cal waited for Gil to highlight the place in question. “Where is it?”
“Richmond upon Thames.” Gil zeroed it down on the map. “It’s a big place, but she spent more time here than anywhere else.”
Cal nodded. “Then we go here first.”
“Should we get Rick back in?” Josh asked.
Dave looked up from where he’d been talking on the phone. “Rick will be here in fifteen minutes. He’s not gonna miss out on catching this woman.”
Cal didn’t argue. “Bring up the blueprint of the house and the layout of the grounds. We are not going in unprepared. Do it for all four properties.”
“Should I get Max up again?” Gil asked.
Josh shook his head. “We need him fully alert. He’s going to be our eyes and ears. Let him sleep for a couple of hours, then he can get over his sulk while we’re out in the field. What did Lillian and the girls say?”
Dave gave him a shit-eating grin. “She said why didn’t you call sooner? I won’t tell you what she called you.”
“I hope you know what you’re doing, Angel,” Cal said.
Josh smirked at him. “I always know what I’m doing.”
It was a lie, but Cal needed the reassurance, and he would always give his Charlie what he wanted. He had a feeling Sir Gideon’s girls were going to be a force to be reckoned with. Once the shit was all over he was going to sit down and talk to them about a proper role.
The trouble with starting late is that it left them very little time in the way of daylight hours to explore the properties. Cal reluctantly agreed that they would start with the house in Richmond upon Thames and tackle the others the next day. Josh prayed they would find Weatherly at the first house.
Gil joined him by the coffee machine as Josh chugged down one last coffee before they set out. “Is there one for me?”
“Help yourself,” Josh said. “Is your boy awake yet?”
“He’s not my boy,” Gil said automatically, reaching for a mug.
Josh tilted his head to look into his face. “You really like Max, don’t you?”
“He’s all right.”
“No, I mean you really like him. I thought you were straight.”
Gil shrugged. “I’m not fussy.”
“You never fucked me,” Josh pointed out, and it wasn’t like he hadn’t made the offer on a regular basis.
“You wanted to be the filling in a twin sandwich,” Gil said, a disgusted look on his face. “I mean, gag.”
“It happens, dude,” Josh said. He knew from personal experience.
Gil did not look reassured. “Not to Landry and me. Even the idea makes me want to hurl.”
“I know. That’s why I kept asking.” Josh smirked at him.
“You’re one sick puppy.”
Josh stared at him wide-eyed and then he burst out laughing. “You mean you were straight
