Girls Night - Yolanda Olson Page 0,74

reached into my bra. Wrapped around my fake ID were a few notes, and I undid them then handed him the photocard.

His long fingers took the card from me, a noise in the back of his throat vibrating over to me. “This you?” He glanced up at me then back at the card.

“Yep.” I pushed a loose strand of hair behind my ear. I’d gone for two French braids tonight. Not super fashionable, but essential if I was going to work all of the tension in my body out on the dancefloor.

The doorman tilted his head and stared at me. For a second, I fretted he wouldn’t let me in, but then he moved aside and handed me back my fake I.D. “In you go.” I exhaled a breath and slipped passed him, not missing his wink as I went.

I waited for Sage and Storm, but he barely looked at their I.D’s, passing them through as if he didn’t second guess them at all. I rolled my eyes but didn’t let it bother me because as soon as we were in the main doors, the music blasted through my eardrums, and I finally felt relaxed for the first time in weeks.

“What do you want to drink?” Storm shouted, pushing the three of us together in our own little circle.

“Coke,” Sage replied, smiling up at him with stars in her eyes. I almost gagged at how much they doted on each other, but part of me wished I could have that too. It wasn’t for lack of trying, it was just…everyone who came onto me had the wrong kind of equipment.

“Thalia?” Storm asked, his eyes focusing on me.

“Tequila!” I shouted, already needing the burn of it in the back of my throat.

“Got it.” His hand skimmed down Sage’s arm to her hand. “I’ll meet you on the dancefloor, okay?”

“Okay.”

As soon as Storm left to go to the packed bar, I snatched Sage’s arm and dragged her onto the dancefloor, jumping up and down as the beats got louder the closer we got to the DJ’s booth.

My gaze tracked the entire club as my body took over, dancing to the music. Several twinkling chandeliers as big as cars hung from the glistening black ceiling, but that was nothing compared to the cages suspended in the air with girls in them. They swayed their hips, jumped up and down, and entertained the people below them.

My heart raced as I got lost in the music, and when the DJ turned on my favorite track, I got so excited I broke away from Sage, not caring about anything other than dancing my absolute heart out.

I raised my hands in the air, feeling my white midriff top rise. My skintight leather leggings stuck to me like a second skin, and my feet burned from the high heeled boots I was wearing. But I didn’t care because I was lost in the moment. Lost in a vibe the club had created.

“Hey.” A hand wrapped around my wrist and my body jerked at the touch. “You wanna come in here with me?”

I turned, facing the voice. “I…” My eyes widened at I stared at the blond-haired beauty inside the cage. Seconds ago, it had been suspended twenty feet in the air, but now it was on the ground.

“Come on.” Her hand whispered down to my fingers.

My stomach rolled, nerves taking over, only this time they were the kind of nerves I liked. The kind that told me to jump head first and think about the consequences later.

I bit down on my bottom lip and stepped closer to the cage door, then she clicked it open. She crooked her finger at me, and I went to her, like a moth to a flame. I couldn’t deny her, not when she stared at me like I was the only person in the room.

She stepped closer to me once I was inside, her breath fanning across my cheek. “Just locking the door,” she said into my ear. I nodded, not knowing what else to say. She’d rendered me incapable of speech.

“I…erm…” I pulled in a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart, but it did nothing for me because of how close we were. And then she clicked a button on a rectangle device, and we started to go up. I jaunted to the side, my hand wrapping around one of the bars, trying to steady myself.

“You’re okay,” she reassured, smiling at me. “Plant your feet on the floor wider
