Game Over (Gamer Girls #7) - Kitty Cox Page 0,45

barely out of her mouth before Bradley and Jason hurried back through the warehouse. Both men had on hats. Both of them had their faces shielded from the cameras, but they were running toward the back doors. Rhaven and Amy split, making a gap between them that the agents could run through, but kept going as soon as they were gone. A second later, the back door clanked loudly as Jason and Bradley rushed through it.

"Sam," Rhaven said. "We need to hit all social media. I've got Twitter. Amy gets Instagram. Want to take Facebook?"

"Sure," Sam said, grabbing her phone. "Andy? Reddit!"

"What are we doing?" Andy asked, grabbing his own phone.

Rhaven waved them all closer. "KoG is a terrorist group that is trying to destroy online gaming and blame women for it. They want to kill our fun. They just attacked Deviant, which is why we're down. Blame them. Piss them off. Troll the fuck out of them! We need to keep anyone from looking too hard at who those men were running through the room."

Amy lifted her phone and started typing. "And right after you just got him out and hid his face," she grumbled. "Ungrateful saviors of gamer girls everywhere." But the smile on her face made it clear she wasn't honestly upset about it.

Rhaven logged into her official Twitter account. "Did anyone see what the point of this whole thing is?"

"Pretty sure they were going for Renegade," Andy said. "We've got that thing so protected that you can get the CCTV system first. And, well, with Dez in the building, she'd notice if someone played with our shit. Had to be a distraction."

"And a threat," Sam added. "The homes of all the women on the Flawed team? You can't tell me that's innocent."

"Probably not," Andy agreed. "I mean, the only other thing they could be looking for is Server Three, and that's not attached to Deviant at all."

"We only have three servers?" Rhaven asked.

Sam laughed. "No. There's an entire library of them down there. It's just that Server Three is cursed. Every time we hook one up with that number, in that bank, whatever, it has issues. The drive Dez is using was formerly in the server three spot, failed, got repaired, and is sitting somewhere else, but because it's cursed, we just call it that. Server Three is always the problem child, and this time it's because it's a bit illegal."

"Gotcha," Rhaven said, watching the replies to her Tweet begin to tick up quickly. "Ok. Looks like we've gotten some attention. How about we take the wind out of their sails?"

"End goal?" Andy asked.

"If they want to put us in the spotlight, then we'll shine it on them instead. I called them terrorists and got the FBI here. They think they're playing a very uneven game. They get to break the rules and we have to be nice. Let's show them that's not how it works. We're the voice of the masses, and we will call them out on their shit. And if you know their tag, then tag them."

"I'm all over being a bitch," Amy said, but she lowered her phone. "Guys? Is it stupid that I'm kinda scared?"

"No," Sam promised. "Feels like Silk all over again."

"No one goes outside alone," Andy told them. "I know you weren't here, Rhaven, but this isn't a joke. They tried to kill Dez, and I'm not sure Jason has his sniper rifle."

"I'm not sure he needs it," Rhaven assured him. "He cleared out an entire militia from Zara's school with just a pistol. I know he's got it on him. We're going to be ok." She looked at each of them. "Right?"

"Yeah, but I'm still staying here tonight," Sam admitted. "If there's someone stalking me, I do not want to wander around hoping they don't have a gun."

"I have two couches and a spare room upstairs, plus the rooms down here," Amy added. "The bigger question is when will we know if it's safe to leave? I mean, we can't stay here forever. Even I have to leave to get groceries and I fucking live here!"

"That's kinda the point of terrorism," Rhaven grumbled. "Damn it. They aren't supposed to be winning!"

Chapter 16

No one was at Dez's house, but it had been worth a shot. In the end, Deviant was offline for just over four hours before they found the breach, sealed it, and decided to risk putting it all back up. In that time, Rhaven, Sam, and Flynn
