Rhaven was doing her best to figure out what was going on. She wasn't as strong of a coder as the rest of the team, but she knew enough to help with this. At first, everything seemed to be fine. Yes, the developer bios had all been altered. Where her picture had previously been was now a tombstone. Same for all of the women on the team. The guys simply had crosshairs over their pictures.
Then right at nine o'clock, the first post came through. One of the associate developers yelled that there was a picture on the Silk forums. Rhaven went to click on it, pausing when she saw the back door to Dez's house. The one that was inside a privacy fence. No one should be able to get that shot, but someone had.
Then someone else yelled that Flawed had one. This time, the picture made no sense, but Sam yelled that it was her place. Not even two minutes later, another appeared on Eternal Combat. This time, Rhaven's heart stopped in her chest. It was Braden's place. Even worse than that, Braden was standing out front, talking to Doris, and in the doorway was a man with a very distinct tattoo on his back.
That was her home. That was this morning! She turned to look at Braden, only to find him looking back. "What time did we leave?" he asked.
"Maybe five minutes before Jason called Zara," she said.
"They're in town," Braden grumbled. "Jason!"
"On it!" he yelled.
"It going to be a problem that they got you in it?"
"Can't see his face," Dez yelled back. "Pretty sure no one knows about his tattoo. I sure didn't."
Rhaven chuckled. "Zara did!"
"What?" Zara peeked her head into the area, hurrying over to Rhaven's side. "What did I do?"
So Rhaven showed her the image. "How many people know about his tattoo?"
"Um, if I had to guess, Bradley, me, the two of you - "
"I had no idea," Rhaven admitted. "He never goes without a shirt."
"The scars," Zara whispered. "He's got a few and hates them. I'm pretty sure he got it in his military career, though." She paused. "Wait. Kate's car." She stood back up. "Jason? What was the first picture?"
"Outside where you went to dinner," he called back.
"They think he's just my sponsored gamer boyfriend," she told Rhaven. "We can play on that. You and I are in PD together. He's in Executive Pain. They stripped everything about him being FBI off the web, right?"
"Don't know," Rhaven admitted. "Go ask Bradley. Make sure that's locked down, because his tattoo isn't subtle."
"On it," Zara promised.
But now Rhaven understood why Jason had called in a panic. He understood these guys a little too well. He knew what they were capable of, and had lived through it. She'd just had a few minor inconveniences. It was hard to imagine something as insane as the types of things these people did, but that didn't stop it from happening.
They were terrorists, and right now, they were doing everything in their power to terrorize Deviant Games. It was their way of showing that their e-peen was bigger. Well, let 'em. It wasn't the size that mattered, but the way a man used it. Not that Rhaven really had the experience to say how true that saying was, but right about now, it was enough to keep her going.
She pulled down the picture of Braden's apartment and tossed the poster's account into the forum jail. They weren't banned, but they'd get enough confusing messages that they'd fumble for a bit trying to get another post to go live. That gave her just enough time to copy all of their personal data, their credit card information, payment address, and then lock the account out.
With that, she moved to Google. The address wasn't in town, but it was close enough that the guy could've driven over to get the picture. The scary part, however, was that a different person had posted the picture of Sam's place. Amy hadn't been targeted this time because her apartment only opened into the warehouse.
Suddenly, everything in the building felt like it paused. No one talked. No keys were clicking. Rhaven looked up just as half the room realized something at the exact same time. Suddenly, everyone was speaking at once.
"They've got our CCTV access. All the cameras are streaming on the home page!"
"Do not fucking turn around!" Dez snapped at Jason. "The rest of you, get it down!"
