Game Over (Gamer Girls #7) - Kitty Cox Page 0,113

him opened and Jason turned in time to see Void step out. Like Bradley, he was wearing black and purple. But behind him? Riley Andrews was a punk on her best days, and yet that woman knew how to clean up nice. She wore a body-hugging dress made of some shiny purple fabric. It looked like it had sequins on it, or something, but not as obvious. Her heels were slim and tall, her legs bare to show off the muscles she'd earned riding horses, and the sleeves were short. At her throat was a necklace made from computer cables in rainbow colors.

"You look amazing," he told her.

She smiled. "Good enough to stand up there by you?"

"Oh yeah," he agreed. "I'm also terrified to see my wife now. She's going to be stunning. Do not let me fall on my ass. Deal?"

"Promise," Riley told him.

But Chance held up something else. "So, the guys at Deviant who couldn't make it? Yeah, they wanted to send a little something to represent them. Crysis?"

Flaring it out, Chance showed off a purple service animal-type vest, but that wasn't what it said on the side. It took a moment before Chance had it far enough on the dog for all the creases to lie flat, and then Jason just laughed.

"Property of the happy couple" it said. "PTSD service animal" was written below that.

"It's perfect," Jason told him.

"Then let's do this," Void said. "Zara leaves in half an hour, and we want to be there before she is."

"I have a car waiting downstairs," Adam promised. "Kate will handle the one for Zara. There's another for the rest of us, and each of you can decide if you're coming now or later."

"Now," Knock decided. "Let me just run down the hall and tell the girls that we're all going in a group, and then that's one less thing for them to worry about, right?"

Jason pushed out a breath and nodded. "Right." Then he took another. "I just can't believe it's finally happening."

"Dreams do come true," Bradley told him. "And if you want to run, now's your chance."

"No fucking way," Jason said. "That woman? She's my entire fucking life."

Chapter 38

The venue was cute. No, there was no Elvis, which Logan thought was a bit of a shame for a Vegas wedding. Instead, there was an adorable white gazebo in a rather fancy garden. Everyone took a chair, not caring which side was supposed to be the groom's or the bride's. The truth was that both of them were claimed by the group, and this was nothing more than the final proof.

The whole time, Jason paced back and forth across the gazebo floor. Logan wanted to say he was nervous, but that implied second thoughts. Excited was probably a better word. In there beside Jason, Riley was texting like a mad woman, clearly coordinating everything. Somehow, they'd managed to make all of this come together, and it was amazing. The flowers, the decorations, and even the limos that had carried them here were all just right for these two.

Then Riley called his name. "Logan?" she hissed. "I don't have a pocket."

She was holding out her phone, which meant it was time. He got up and took it, tucking it in one of his many pockets, then reclaimed his chair in the second row. Knock and Cade sat in front of him, but there was one more person who'd want to see this. Logan pulled out his phone and snapped a picture, sending that off to Kitty.

Logan: It's almost time.

Kitty: Yes! Get one of them kissing for me?

Logan: Promise.

And then the music started. Jason moved back to his place calmly, but when he looked down the aisle, it was the first time Logan had ever seen the man lose his composure. Jason gaped in astonishment, and then he smiled. Zara made her way up the aisle on Murder's arm, then took her place across from the man who'd soon be her husband. Murder stood to match Riley. Finally, Bradley and Crysis stopped just at the steps, and the man knelt while the dog sat.

Then the officiant began talking. It wasn't a religious-style wedding, but he had a script about the beauty of love and the importance of it in our lives. Riley watched the man, her hands clasped behind her back, and to Logan, she'd never looked more beautiful. All his life, Logan had expected to grow up, become an attorney like his father, marry some blonde bimbo who could
