watches both sisters leave the room, her eyes bugging out of her head as she looks over at me. When I catch her stare lasering in on me, I begin laughing uncontrollably. I’m happy that neither of the sisters turn in our direction to see what we’re finding so damn hilarious.

Walking toward my office I can hear my mate’s laughter, it’s like the strings of the harps are being strummed the way they are played in heaven, singing harmoniously in my ears. This brings so much joy to this grizzly bear, I can feel it settling deep in my soul, soothing something that was almost cavernous.
Walking into my office with my chest puffed out and my head held high like I am the master of the universe, I confidently ask, “What has that gorgeous voice of yours laughing so beautifully?”
She looks up at me, and the way she takes me in, makes me want to beat my chest like King Kong as he climbs the highest and most deadly tower with his queen in his arms.
“Just reminiscing on how Glorianna whipped in like a tornado on a mission of causing chaos and destruction. She was asking the both us questions as if we were being interrogated on our skills when it comes to caring for these babies instead of us being the ones seeking intel on her own capabilities. Hell, what can I say, I believe I might be in love with this little Fae,” she says jokingly as she laughs with all she just shared.
“Well let’s hope that you’re not in love with anyone besides me and our future daughter and any other children we procure.” This slithers out of my mouth with the quickness of a snake’s tongue. Despite neither of us wanting a mate right now, it seems like the universe has something else in store for us.
She looks at me and her jaw drops open with a dramatic flare. She appears to be in a state of shock and acting like a fish floundering about, freshly out of the water, dangling off a hook. She’s opening and closing her mouth, yet no words have escaped her. After a few more moments of watching the shock and awe on her face, she finally speaks up. “Well, this conversation has just turned into a private one. Shyla, I have to ask you to please take both babies and give us a few minutes,” she firmly requests with finality in her voice and Shyla quickly removes herself and the babies from our presence.
“That sounds just fine with me, darlin’ girl. What seems to be the problem with my statement?” I know that I sent her mind down the whirlpool, but something has to give her a kick in the ass and come around. The elephant can’t keep taking up endless room in our lives. This needs to be spoken about and resolved.
“Well, Mr. Macho, maybe you should’ve come to me before you decided to make a claim on me, on us, publicly. I know that we’re supposed to be fated mates, but neither one of us are at a place in our life to accept this wholeheartedly right now. So how about we discuss the issue about us and talk this whole thing out?”
“Talk? My claim has been issued and spoken. There’s no point in arguing the fact that you ultimately belong to me as well as I do to you. You and Emmaline will be staying by my side from here on out,” I sternly declare before continuing, “I will let you decide if y’all will be staying at my house or if I will be moving into your house. Either way, a decision needs to be made and those are the only two choices there are in this scenario.”
“Because of the danger surrounding this case, I suggest you stay with the two of us at my house until this has been resolved. As far as marriage goes, that isn’t even something that is remotely going to happen, at least not for a long time to come.”
“Sorry to be the one to break the news to you, darlin’, but my grizzly will not let go of his restless perusal inside of my mind until you are in the comfort of my arms. I will have a deputy go to my house and grab my go-bag that I have sitting in the entry of my front door.”
