Darkmore Penitentiary 2 - Caroline Peckham Page 0,97

bell warning us to return to our cell blocks for the night hadn't sounded, I probably would have insisted on having him again.

As it was, I had no desire to be anywhere near this door when they set the Belorian loose for the night, so I quickly grabbed my clothes from the floor and started pulling them back on.

Sin followed suit more reluctantly and the moment we were dressed, I took his hand and made him run with me back to the stairs. We jogged up them and through the crowd of inmates who were heading back too, but when we reached Sin's cell block, he didn't stop, instead leading me on towards mine.

"You do know you aren't allowed in my cell block, right?" I teased as he kept hold of my hand and I made no effort to reclaim it. It felt too damn good in his for that.

"I'm walking you home," he replied with a twitch of his lips that made me smile too. "That's what all good dates do."

“I’ve never had anyone walk me home before,” I admitted with a grin. “Possibly because there’s always a good chance that a psychotic Storm Dragon would be there to chase them off if they tried, but still.”

“I’m not afraid of your cousin, kitten,” Sin teased. “I’m sure he’ll love me when he gets to know me. Besides, this is how dates are supposed to go and I’m doing it right up until the very last moment.”

We'd arrived outside Cell Block D and I turned to look up at him with a raised brow. "Is that so? What other date things am I unclear on then?"

"Well, if it went well, this is the part where I'd kiss you," he purred, tugging me closer and cupping my jaw in his hands. “But we'd better be quick, because your grumpy old dad is watching."

"What?" I asked, glancing at the open doors and meeting Cain's pissed off expression half a second before Sin's mouth met mine and I forgot all about him.

Well, practically forgot anyway, because my little bitch heart still stung over him. But now Sin had given me new aches to focus on and his were so much more delicious that I was happy to comply.

When my unconventional date pulled back, I was more than a little breathless and my needy body was cursing the fact that I couldn't drag him back to my cell for more.

"Goodnight, wild girl," he purred before turning and walking away and I shamelessly checked out his ass as I watched him go.

I headed on into my cell block with a grin on my face and managed to not even glance in Officer Stronzo's direction.

And I was pretty sure that was another point to me. Go team Rosalie.

I was lying in my cell when Rosa came prancing in with a leaflet clutched in her hand, her smile bright and making me all warm inside.

"Hey, little pup, what've you got there?" I sat up, but she dove on me, scruffing my hair and tussling with me like a Wolf.

I growled as I wrestled her back. She didn't realise what this kind of shit did to me. I should have stopped it like a decent Fae would have, but apparently I was a sordid piece of shit because I rolled us over and pinned her down with her arms above her head on my pillow, pressing my hips down on hers as I snatched the leaflet out of her grip. As my gaze fell to it, she took the opportunity to throw me off of her and I gasped as I tumbled off of the bed and my ass hit the floor. She laughed, jumping up and pressing a foot down on my chest with a grin, her hair wild around her shoulders.

"I win," she announced and she looked too damn cute so I just nodded, knocking her foot off of me and lifting the leaflet up to read.
