Darkmore Penitentiary 2 - Caroline Peckham Page 0,78

I could curse that colourfully.

"Calm down, wild girl," Sin commanded as he fought to keep hold of me and I seriously considered using my magic to escape his clutches so that I could go beat a bitch's face in. "Believe me, your boy doesn't feel an ounce of lust towards that girl. I can feel it. He wants her near his cock about as much as he wants a hoard of angry hornets near it. But if you want to make him feel as bad as you're feeling right now, then I suggest you get back to dry humping me. Or we could ditch the clothes and I could make you scream my name so loud that you forget his? I dunno how you feel about exhibitionism?"

"For the love of the moon," Roary muttered. "Just get your fucking hands off of her so that we can head back inside before the guards punish us for wasting time." He held his hand out for me like he expected me to just leap away from Sin and go running because he'd beckoned.

"You go, Roar," I said, my anger at my situation with him lending a layer of fuck you to my tone. "I'm good here, thanks."

Roary's gaze narrowed on Sin as he casually unbuttoned a few of my jumpsuit buttons while nuzzling against my neck so that his stubble made the most delicious scattering of goosebumps rush across my skin. I stopped his progress on the buttons, but the neck thing felt all kinds of good and it was so nice to be held by someone who wanted me and wasn’t afraid to say it, so I made no move to stop that.

"Seriously?" Roary asked, giving me a scathing look that said I was pissing him off, but what did he want from me?

"Why do you care?" I asked him and Sin chuckled like he knew the answer to that.

"I don't," Roary replied. "But I seriously doubt your cousin would want me leaving you here with him."

"As if Dante has a leg to stand on when it comes to hanging around with questionable characters," I joked. "Besides, I just need to deconstruct my magic. What do you think we're going to do with two minutes to spare that's so worrying?"

"Is that a challenge, kitten?" Sin asked in a tone that had my toes curling. "Because I promise you, I can make it the best two minutes of your life."

Roary muttered something I didn't hear and stalked away towards the crowd of inmates heading back into the prison and Sin spun me in his arms so I was looking up at him.

"Do you want some help destroying your pretty little woodland, wild girl?" he asked, that same glint in his eye as he'd had when he suggested setting the Belorian free. It should have terrified me, but there was something kinda exciting about it too.

"Why do I feel like I should say no to that?" I asked as he grinned mischievously.

"Because society has spent years trying to make you conform to the rules of social propriety that make for a boring as fuck life. But you don't want to say no because deep down you're just as wild as me and you wanna watch the world burn at my side."

"I feel like I'm going to regret this," I said but I was smiling too as his mood begged for company.

"Not a chance, wild girl, I got you." Sin turned his back and patted on his shoulder for me to hop up and I did so with a laugh, looping my arms around his neck and winding my legs around his waist. "Don't let go," he warned before striding back into the trees.

The moment we reached the little hollow at the centre of them, Sin raised his arms and flames ignited in his fingers. With a flick of his wrists, they shot away from him, catching onto the closest trees to us which instantly ignited.

The flames spread quickly, leaping from branch to branch until we were completely surrounded and I sucked in a breath of exhilaration as he built the blaze into an inferno, directing his air magic around us to fan the flames and cocoon the two of us at the heart of the raging fire.

The flames burned white hot, the colour dancing between orange, red and even blue under his command as it ate through everything around us and destroyed it in a show of magic so powerful it made my heart
