King presses his lips into a tight line. Grayson, on the other hand, is all in.
We walk for the exit, and as we break out into the parking garage, it takes me far too long to realize that the garage is empty and the boys had to have walked here.
“Umm … where’s the car?” I ask, glancing around to find it completely empty. I’m not going to lie, I’d prefer to be hand-delivered right to Carver’s door.
Cruz cautiously glances away. “We kinda thought you’d want to go straight to Carver, so we figured that if we walked … we’d get a chance to tell you everything that’s been going on over the past few days.”
I let out a frustrated sigh. “Assholes,” I mutter under my breath.
Grayson scoffs and I glance his way to find his unwavering stare straight forward, and I can’t help but feel like he’s making a point of not looking my way, but why? He’s been acting weird over the last few days. He’s been a surprising protector since the second Carver’s hand found my throat and I don’t know what to think about it. It’s weird and it’s making me feel things I wasn’t quite ready to feel.
I try to put it to the back of my mind as we step into the massive car elevator that we were just in a few days ago, only now, it feels like a lifetime ago.
The door closes, locking us in, and as Cruz presses the button to send us up, I can’t help but feel the tension in the little dark room growing by the second. I’m boxed in with three of the most intense guys I’ve ever met, and I can’t see a damn thing.
The elevator rises and a body steps in behind me. My back straightens, and before I can ask which of the guys it is, a hand gently presses down over my mouth. His other hand curls around my body as his lips drop to my neck and my knees instantly go weak.
He holds me up as I sink into his touch, and at this point, I don’t even care which of the guys it is. Though if I’m honest with myself, I’m kinda hoping that it’s Grayson. Maybe then he’ll climb aboard the sharing train and come home with me and the boys. Either way, I’m not about to let this opportunity go to waste. There’s something exciting about the idea of getting caught.
His hand on my waist starts gliding further down my body until he’s cupping my aching pussy and I long for my jeans to be torn away, but we only have a few seconds before we reach the top and the door opens wide, giving me my first glimpse of sunlight in over four days.
Not wanting to waste a single second, I turn in his hold and push up onto my tippy-toes, collecting his lips with mine. He kisses me deeply and his taste is intoxicating. There’s something familiar about it though, but I know Cruz and King all too well and it’s not them.
A thrill burns through me as my hand falls upon his chest, but as I travel it up and hook it around the back of his neck, it hits me.
It’s not fucking Grayson either.
I suck in a gasp just as the elevator reaches the top, and just like that, his lips are torn away from mine and I feel a slight gust of wind as he rushes away. The elevator door begins to open and the second the light seeps through, I quickly glance around to find King and Cruz to my right and Grayson minding his own damn business to my left. None of them looking my way or even remotely aware that we’re not alone in here.
I look at the shadows, knowing damn well that Carver is in here somewhere. I know his body almost better than I know my own, but that taste on my tongue … that’s something I could never forget. I know the way he kisses me; he’s so forceful and demanding. I know the way his hands feel on my body, gliding across my skin as though he owns it.
So why the fuck does he think he has the right to touch me after all the bullshit he’s put me through? Fuck him.
My jaw clenches as the door fully opens and Cruz looks back at me as the guys start making their way out. “You coming?”
I pause a beat,
