Coyote (Hawks MC Next Generation #1) - Lila Rose Page 0,37

I wasn’t the only one suffering from Genny’s crazy desires. The bitch needed to go. Christ, I was about ready to go back to how things were when Talon got rid of all the club bunnies for Mum’s sake. Yet I knew the other brothers enjoyed them too much. It just wasn’t my thing.

She stood, ran towards me with wild, crazy eyes, and gripped my tee, begging, “Coyote, don’t let him do this to us. Please, baby. Tell him no. Tell him you want me.”

Prying her hands free, I told her, “It ain’t happenin’ between us. Listen to the prez.”

She stomped and crossed her arms over her chest. “No!”

“Blue, call Hellmouth,” Talon said.

Her hands shot up in front of her. “Wait, don’t do that. I’ll go. I will.” She spun back around, went to her clothes on the end of the bed, and quickly got dressed. She made it our way with her head hanging low.

“Hawks is off-limits to you, Genny,” Talon said.

“Okay,” she whispered with a sniff before she moved by us and down the hall.

“Blue, follow her. Make sure she gets out without more trouble. Then let the brothers and other bitches know the situation.”

“Got it, brother.” Blue nodded before he left.

“You good?” Talon asked.

“Yeah, she just wasn’t listenin’ to me.”

His hand dropped to my shoulder and gave it a squeeze. “Watch your back. Don’t trust her, Cody.”

“I will, and there’s no chance of that.” Though I doubt she’d do anything to go against Talon’s words.

He gave me a shake. “Good. Now, how’s things comin’ with this bakery girl?”

Rolling my eyes, I shrugged off his hold and told him, “Nothin’s happenin’. Got to go burn my sheets. Later, Prez.”

I wasn’t ready to talk shit about Channa to my dad. Hell, Channa didn’t even seem to want to talk to me. Until I knew there was something amazing to grow between us, I’d keep my mouth shut, or else Mum and her women would be at the bakery by tomorrow.

I knew Channa wouldn’t be ready for that. I wasn’t even sure if she’d handle Maya paying her a visit. I’d have to wait and see how things went when I saw her next.

For now, I did have sheets to burn before I locked up the room and got back to work. I reckoned my employees could do with a treat. Maybe some cakes would go down well at work.

And I knew just the place to order them from.

Chapter Ten

Channa

Even as I worked the following day, I still wanted to kick myself for the way I’d acted. I also considered finding Cody’s number and calling him to say I wasn’t who I’d been back then. And that I didn’t pee myself when I got scared and that I was sorry for how I’d run off, but honestly, I was scared of what he thought.

Snorting to myself, I cleaned down my station and turned off the ovens since Stanley was due in a couple of hours. The phone to the bakery rang and before I got to it, it stopped. Denise must have arrived and picked it up out front. I made my way out there to flip the sign to Open and set out the chairs.

I saw her in the corner and gave her a wave. When she held her hand up in a stop motion, I paused.

“Hold on one second,” she said into the phone. “The boss is here, so I’ll ask now, but we don’t usually do deliveries.” She placed the phone on the counter and came my way. “Do you know the Harley store just off the main street?”

“Yes, I’ve heard it’s popular.”

Denise nodded. “It is. Well, they just rang and wanted to know if we could deliver two dozen party pies, sausage rolls, and the chocolate-chip cupcakes.”

Holy wow, that would be a good sale.

“Let me check the stock we have,” I told her and quickly headed to the kitchen.

“What’s going on?” Stanley asked as he walked in the back door.

“You’re early again. I’m starting to think you love it here.”

He snorted, rolling his eyes. “Was bored and I got shit to do later. Though, maybe I should have waited since it’s damn warm in here again.” His gaze narrowed, and I grinned. “Anyway,” he drew out. “What was going on?”

“That Harley store wants to order a whole heap of stuff. I’m checking if we have enough before I cook some more tonight. Since you’re here, do you think you could deliver it?”

“The Harley store, you say?”

“Yes.”

“Can’t
