with the hand not petting Molly. The dog hadn’t left his side since he came inside the house.
“I need to talk to Henry,” Frey said. “If the humans were hired by the Greeks, maybe he can use the code name to find something to go on. We also need to talk to Kallisto.”
Jasper pushed his chair away from the table. When he stood, he walked over to the back door and looked out. “This is my fault. I’m the one who wanted Kallisto tied up.”
Frey went to stand by Jasper. “No, Brother. This is all on Alistair. Everything we’ve been through is all because of him and his family in some way. Drago only took up the mantle because of his loyalty to his King. We will figure all this out, one way or another. With Drago dead, it’s only a matter of time before we capture the other Greeks. We have Hagen in custody, and he is already talking. I will call Henry later and fill him in on what went down in Norway. That might be the one bit of information that allows him to figure out who the new hacker is. For now, let us talk about more pleasant things, like Travis and Brynna’s future as hotel owners.”
Chapter Twelve
“Stand still.” Trevor was attempting to fix Travis’s blue bowtie. The one which matched the dress Brynna was wearing. At least that’s what she’d told him. He and Trevor were in a guest bedroom at Frey and Abbi’s. They had been back in the States two weeks, and today was their wedding day. They were getting married in the backyard with only a few friends and family in attendance. Marcie and Lawrence had flown in along with Gautum, Freyda, and Uri’s parents. The only ones missing who Travis really wanted there were Rafael and Kaya.
Travis felt bad about not being there for Rafael before he left for Italy. He did call his boss when Frey told him Rafe would welcome the distraction. They only spoke briefly about Kaya before Rafael asked about the house in Norway as well as Travis’s and Brynna’s plans for the future. Rafael offered to let Travis work remotely since he would be splitting his time between two countries. Brynna had said Travis didn’t need to work if he didn’t want to since she was loaded, but he didn’t want to be a kept man. When Travis mentioned waiting to get married until Rafael was back in the States, his boss confided in him that might never happen. Travis worried about the male, but if he were in Rafael’s shoes, he would do whatever he thought was best for his own family.
“Is he here yet?” Travis had invited his parents. He knew his mother wouldn’t show, not that he cared, but his dad promised to be there for him.
“Yes. Brynna’s parents latched onto him so he wouldn’t feel out of place.”
“You know they’re not really her parents, right?”
“Who says? We know family is more than blood, and if she wants to claim them as her parents, who are we to say otherwise?”
Travis knew Trevor was right. The little time he’d spent around Freyda and Halina, he’d felt more love from both females than he ever had his own mother.
“There. You’re perfectly handsome.”
“So are you.” Travis pushed the purple stripe in Trevor’s hair off his forehead. It flopped back down with a mind of its own, just like Trevor.
“Thanks for pushing the wedding date up. If Jasper hadn’t already booked our trip, I wouldn’t have asked.”
“It’s no problem. I’m just as happy to go ahead and get it over with. Georgia weather is unpredictable this time of year, and today is perfect.”
The two brothers walked downstairs and found their father laughing at something Freyda had said. “There’s my boys,” Jack McKenzie said. “You both look wonderful.”
“Thanks, Dad,” they said in unison. Trevor knocked into Travis with his shoulder, grinning. Other than Rafael not being there, Travis didn’t think the day could be any more perfect. He was already mated to Brynna, but now he got to stand with her in front of their friends and family, promising forever. Considering their forever was extended, he had many years to look forward to.
“It’s time, boys. Go take your place down front with Victoria,” Gautum said.
Jack stopped Travis before he could walk off. “I’m so glad you invited me, Son. I want nothing but happiness for you.”
“Thanks, Dad.” Travis hugged his father, then he and Trevor headed down the
