Breakaway - Sadie Jacks Page 0,8

“Yes. Clearly I’m both of those things.” She blinked her pretty eyes as her gaze found him in an instant.

“You’re wearing men’s shorts that are way too big. No shoes. A bloody shirt that could fit a man ten times your size. What else would you be?” Tag said, crossed his arms over his chest.

Hollyn opened her mouth. Snapped it shut moments later. Tipped her head to the side. “Well, fine. I’m not sure what a homeless is other than something without a home, but I had one. I just ran away. Finally.” A fire lit deep in her eyes. “And you can’t make me go back.” She crossed her arms and glared up at Tag.

“I already told you, you don’t have to go back,” Thane said, rubbing his hand up and down her arm. “And good news, you don’t need that tooth doctor you were asking about.” He raised his upper lip, exposed his teeth.

She ran a dirty finger over her teeth, her eyes alive with excitement. “I got them back?” She pushed on her two front teeth again. “I got them back.” She did a little wiggle jerk movement while she was still seated.

The sway of her unfettered breasts drew my attention. I swallowed and looked away. Clearly, she was in need of some help. My leering at her wasn’t going to portray the image of safety I bet she needed right now.

I pushed back up to my feet, used the wall for balance. “Come on in. We can help you get cleaned up. I’m sure that bloody shirt isn’t very comfortable.”

She looked down at her chest. “Nope.” With that, she reached down, pulled it off in one sweep. She sighed. “That’s much better.”

I could hear her talking, but I wasn’t really listening. Her breasts were tinted red from the bloody fabric. But the delicate veining of blue under her tanned skin had saliva backing up in my mouth. I wanted to trace those thin lines of blue with my tongue.

“You’re being very rude,” she said. “One shouldn’t ogle the bare skin of another.”

I nodded my head. “Uh huh. Right. Definitely.” Her breasts were perfectly shaped. Enough to fill my palm with the slightest bit for me to nibble at the same time.

Someone slapped me upside the head. “Tove. Get your mind out of her pants,” Tag growled low in my ear.

I jerked, straightened. “What? What did you say?”

She repeated her words.

I smiled. “You’re the one sitting half naked in our foyer. What did you want me to look at?”

She looked at Thane. Thane, who only had on shorts and running shoes. “You don’t ogle him.” She glared up at me.

I chuckled. “Well, he is my brother. Not only have I seen him naked, I’ve seen myself naked. We’re identical triplets. If you walk around naked, or even topless, I’m going to ogle you.” I shrugged.

“Then maybe you should be naked so I can ogle you,” she challenged.

My hands went to my pants.

“No.” Tag groaned. “Hell fucking no. We’re not going to walk around this house naked or half naked. Put your fucking clothes back on.” Tagan stabbed a finger in the air at her.

“Why? Clothes are restrictions. They cut us off from the power of nature.” She glanced around the apartment. Smiled. “Maybe if you took your clothes off, you wouldn’t be so grumpy. Let your body air out.” She flung her arms out. After a moment she wrinkled her nose. She leaned down, sniffed her armpit. “On better thought, I could use a shower. I stink.”

Pretty sure I just tumbled straight in love with this strange, sexy woman.

Chapter 7 – Hollyn

I pushed to my feet. “The bathroom’s where?” I asked the grumpy guy who was glaring at me. The man seriously needed to air out his aura. It was all kinds of stuffed up and clogged.

His eyes bugged out even as he glared at me. I wasn’t sure that exact expression had been physically possible, but he managed it. If I’d had a gold star, I would have given it to him.

I stood right in front of him. Thane and Toven behind me. The other two brothers were nice. This guy though…he was like a cat in a room full of rocking chairs that he’d already set on fire for even looking at his tail.

One of the guys behind me laid their hands on my shoulders. That wave of magic rushed through me at Thane’s touch. Apparently the magic knew who it was. The whispering in
