the veil nearly four years ago. To a passerby, this was just a cluster of trees. To the people who lived here and the goblins guarding them and their secrets, it was a huge, bustling village with people striding to and fro along paths that led to different dwellings in the center where goods were made. Birds flew in arcs in the sky, silent outside of the sanctuary, but their songs were beautiful here.
The temple stood back off the path, and Trey could make out the goblins standing before it as well as the ones standing at the towers, their wings ready to take flight should there be cause.
There was life here, a school in the distance, a whole world within the veil. Trey would take Kindling to where he and Calyx often played, Trey’s paws pounding the earth and Calyx speeding after him, his wings beating the air. Trey’s dick grew hard and eager with the memory.
Kindling suddenly took a deep breath, and then the little imp looked at him with a sly grin.
“Not. A. Word.”
“I wasn’t going there—this time. Besides, I’d rather take all of this in. Why do they even need to leave here? The only thing missing is a mall and a Starbucks.”
Trey laughed. “We have a coffee shop here, and what it serves, Starbucks can’t find. And a mall? Well, there’s a delivery service. We’re not without technology. There are computers in a library where they are monitored regularly. Young ones, you know.” There were benefits to technology, but there were detriments, too.
“Amazing”
It was.
“Trey,” called a voice Trey recognized. He waited as the leader of the goblins moved toward him, his large body cutting a path through those bustling around him.
Though Haru wasn’t in goblin form, Trey could envision the colossal black leathery wing appendages spread wide beyond his frame, casting the world behind him in shadow.
“Haru, this is my cousin, Kindling, the one I mentioned visiting.”
Green eyes, the color of the forest, turned toward Kindling, and Haru nodded with a gentle smile. “Welcome, young one, to our sanctuary. I’m glad you’re here. Perhaps my son’s mate”—Haru focused on Trey—”and future husband will not be a lone wolf for a while.” He laughed warmly.
Trey shook his head. “I think he plans—” Trey coughed when Kindling elbowed him in the ribs, moving him out of the way and planting himself before Haru, who dwarfed him.
Haru was a wide redwood and Kindling a twig.
“To stay forever.” Kindling finished. “Is that an option? I love what I’ve seen so far.” There was a rough growl to Kindling’s voice as he gracefully eased forward with each word until his body aligned against Haru’s.
Haru stepped back in surprise, only for Kindling to swiftly remove the distance gained. Trey almost felt sorry for his mate’s father. Almost.
“Forever?” Haru questioned while again trying to place some space between him and Kindling.
“Yes. And I didn’t come just to see my cousin. I came to see the world he’s found, his home, and explore, as my father called it. I’d hate to take all Trey’s time I’m sure he’d rather spend with his mate.” Kindling placed a finger against his lips as if in thought, and Trey snorted as Haru’s eyes followed the movement. “Maybe you could help with that? You know, show me around?” Kindling gracefully pointed out the area.
Trey smelled it then, the perfume of sexual heat coming off Kindling’s body, and registered a similar response from Haru, including both desire and trepidation. It was unusual, and unlike the charismatic, fatherly warrior Trey knew.
Kindling wasn’t holding back, though. If anything, Haru’s scent must have been a siren call to his cousin, because Trey saw the moment Kindling’s teeth lost their human appearance and shifted into fangs.
“A run sounds great,” Trey rushed out. “In fact, Kindling, let’s go on one right now.”
“No,” Kindling argued. “I want to stay here.” He licked his bottom lip hungrily, ensnaring Haru further in his trap.
Can’t wait to tell Calyx about this. Trey dragged his cousin away from Haru Akiyama, High Lord of the Tengu Goblins.
“I wasn’t going to hurt him,” Kindling protested.
“No? You looked like you wanted him to mount you for all in the sanctuary to see.”
“Yes, that would have been lovely. Your sanctuary into that type of thing? I wouldn’t have minded.”
“No, of course, you wouldn’t.”
“Don’t be crass. And, even better? Me mounting him, my swollen cock between those tight cheeks of his. Did you see that ass? He could crack walnuts with that thing.”
Trey
