shoulder. I loved it all. No, that wasn't it.

"I love both of you," I said softly, reaching back to hold Lane closer, but my eyes were on Seth's. "I love that I can."

"You're just so perfect," Seth whispered. "So very beautiful, and you're ours."

"Mine," Lane mumbled.

Seth chuckled. "Which means ours, in case you for-"

He didn't get to finish the thought because Lane's phone began to ring. Both men immediately sat up, but even I knew that ringtone. That was Ian.

"Got it," Seth said, flinging off the blankets so he could grab the pants making that sound. He pulled it out by the third ring and swiped immediately. "Yeah?"

Then his head whipped around to look at me. I heard him make agreeing noises, but Lane kept his volume turned down too low for even my new wolf hearing to make out what Ian was saying.

Then, "Be there in five," and Seth hung up. "Both of you, get dressed. The kids were attacked at the trails. They're at Bridget's. Gabby's fine, but Olivia got torn up pretty bad."

CHAPTER 31

* * *

The three of us piled into Lane's truck and raced over to Bridget's. When we got there, the street was packed. Cars had been parked anywhere they would fit. The door to the house was open, making it clear an entire crowd was inside, plus more outside in the yard, and yet, when Lane parked and I jumped out, a woman pointed to the side.

"Clinic," she said, meaning the large building set beside the house like a detached garage. "Your pup is there, Alpha."

"Move!" Lane roared, clearing a path by the power of his voice alone.

The last time I'd been to see Bridget as a doctor, she'd treated me in her home. However, it appeared that her clinic was now fully functional, and by the way the pack was gathering, I knew this was going to be bad. When we got closer, I heard a scream. Thankfully, it was short and didn't sound too bad.

A man yanked open the door, holding it so I didn't even have to slow down. Lane and Seth were right behind me, but when I burst into the waiting area, the first thing I saw was Sampson Delaney, and the man was covered in blood. Samantha was blotting at a wound on his head. Strangely enough, the old man was letting her.

And in the corner, Vic stood with Theo and Nik. I didn't see Lev, but couldn't worry about that yet. Roman was sitting in one of the chairs. Xander was beside him with a hand on his shoulder, looking as if the boy was offering his best friend some emotional support. At the back of the room, I saw Jax. Beside him was Scott. A second later, I realized that the men with their backs to us were Trent and Pax.

"Where's Gabby?" I asked, not even caring who answered.

Trent spun to face me and crossed the room while answering. "She's fine, Elena. She's with Olivia. Bridget's stitching up the girl's leg and Gabby's holding her hand. Ian just took Heather in there."

"What happened?" I demanded.

It was Roman who answered. "We were on the trails, Alpha. Nikolai was hanging back with Theo. Gabby, Olivia, and I were running up the creek bed. Samantha got tired, so she went back to start a fire. No big deal, we thought, and then we just..." He lifted both hands to rub at his eyes. "We weren't alone."

"Wolves," Nik said from the other side. "I don't know everyone here yet, but the guy was colored like a husky, but brown, and he came at us growling."

Theo chuckled. "He didn't expect to see you shift, though."

"No," Nik agreed. "I moved between the wolf and Theo, roared, and he took off, but I could see others in the trees. Theo grabbed our stuff and we tried to head back for the cars, but it was dark, and he only had two legs, and so we weren't moving too fast."

"We heard Olivia scream," Theo breathed.

"So did I," Vic told him, picking up the story. "It was the sound of a hurt wolf, and Ashley immediately knew something was wrong. I was expecting to find someone who'd slipped down the bank or something. Ashley and the three of us went to help."

"May have been the only thing that saved me," Theo said. "Because as soon as Olivia yelled, it was like the wolves were everywhere. Nik was trying to keep them off me, but there
