your own place or stay here?"

"I hadn't really thought about it," she admitted.

"Stay?" he begged. "The way I see it, we've been working up to this for six months, so it's not too fast, right? I mean, the living together part."

She pressed her cheek into his shoulder feeling her lips stretch into a girlish smile. "Just skip right over giving me a drawer, huh?"

"Yeah," he breathed. "I'm going to give you everything, baby."

"Then I'm going to stay around and enjoy it," she decided, "because I like this. Braden, I really like this. It feels..."

"Perfect," he finished.

Chapter 56

Eventually, Rhaven had to get up. It was much too early in the day for her to be sleepy, and she really needed a shower. Rolling off the bed, she raced the cat to the bathroom just to hear Braden laughing behind her. But when she stepped into the shower, her man came to join her.

They kissed. They laughed. They splashed each other playfully, but unfortunately, the hot water didn't last forever. Still, this was her night to celebrate, and she knew exactly what her idea of a relaxing day off consisted of. Heading back into the bedroom, she pulled on Braden's t-shirt, her panties, and then headed for the "office."

It was really the second bedroom, but it was where Braden had all of his tech set up. He'd managed to clear off a space for her on a card table, and it worked well enough. Rhaven turned on her computer and then left, going straight for the kitchen.

"What are you doing?" Braden asked.

"Starving," she told him.

He shooed her out of the way. "Today is your big day. Go relax or something." Then he pulled open the freezer. "Chicken?"

"Sure," she agreed, turning to hop up on the counter.

Braden pulled out the package and tossed it into the sink. The clanking sound proved that it was very frozen. "Mm, now that's cute," he purred, moving between her knees to steal a kiss.

She bit her lower lip and giggled. "How do you manage to always do that?"

"Do what?" he asked.

"Make me feel, I dunno, beautiful."

"Because I happen to think you are," he said. "And if you don't get that cute little ass out of my kitchen, I'm going to end up bending you over the couch."

She gasped in mock horror. "Insatiable."

"Baby, I'm a man. Kinda something you're gonna have to learn to deal with." He flicked his brows up twice, doing his best to be salacious, but it only made her laugh. "I also saw you turn on your computer."

"I was thinking about gaming," she admitted.

"Then go game," he said.

"I'm not going to break any rules?"

He shook his head. "Nope. Don't tell them shit about Renegade. Don't give them any of the modifier details. Besides that, you can still game, and they all know you're a dev now, so enjoy it. And tell your friends your good news?"

Rhaven slipped off the counter and right into his chest. "Maybe come play when you're done?"

"Promise," he breathed, catching her face to kiss her hard and fast. "God, I can't get over you." He gave her another peck on the lips. "Food. Gaming. Get!"

That was all she needed. In truth, Rhaven had been missing her time at the keyboard shooting people. It helped her decompress, and it had been a habit for as long as she could remember. So, firing up Eternal Combat and Teamspeak, she logged her character in, and while that loaded, she jumped into the chat room.

Names were listed under all of the different headings. Paradox seemed to be jumping, from the flashing colors indicating someone was actively speaking. Executive Pain looked like they were having a slow night. Then she saw PsychoDreads. All of her old friends were online. So, without thinking, she clicked that option and jumped right in.

"Rhaven!" a woman called out. She recognized Zara's voice.

"Hey, Zara," she replied. "I'm about to be online. Anyone have room on their team?"

Murder chuckled. "Psyc does."

"Fuck off," Psyc said, proving he was there as well. "Murder's squad lead, Rhaven. We're about to slam into Paradox. Wanna help?"

For a split second, she thought about saying no, then decided against it. "Sure."

After all, this was still her outfit. Things had all been settled. Mostly, it was that the man in the other room was really the right one for her. As she tabbed back into the game and clicked to accept her group invite, Rhaven realized how true that was. Braden was perfect. He was amazing. The only
