For The Win (Gamer Girls, #6) - Auryn Hadley Page 0,117

long moment, she just looked at him. This gorgeous man who made women drool was proving himself to be even better than she'd imagined. And something about that made her feel all tingly and smiley. She'd tried drugs that weren't this good, and this feeling didn't seem to be fading away.

It was supposed to be fleeting. It was supposed to get crushed, or be a lie, or something! The way her heart was beating a little too fast, her cheeks felt like they ached from smiling and her eyes were just a little too damp? That happened in the books Kate wrote. It happened in the movies. It happened to other people - never to her.

But it wasn't going away. If anything, it was starting to feel almost normal.

Finally, she said, "I didn't know he had green eyes until today."

"I did," Braden told her. "He also has a nice ass. You want to check out boys, then I'm definitely your guy." He leaned in a little more. "But kiss me so I don't feel like I've been replaced. Believe it or not, I'm kinda waiting for you to realize that PsychoCut is a much better guy for you than I could ever be."

"What?" she gasped, leaning back to see him instead of leaning in. "No! What would make you say that?"

"He's straight," Braden said, ticking it off on his fingers, "and he's rich. Not Murder levels, but he's making good money. He's always gaming with you, and I kinda feel like you know him better."

"You're cuter," she said, cutting him off before he found more things.

Braden's blue eyes jumped up to hers. "Yeah?"

"Oh yeah," she agreed. "And you're more patient. Never mind that this? Me fumbling and reverting to acting like a friend because I don't know how to be a girlfriend? You make me feel like that doesn't bother you."

"Rhaven, you are my friend. That comes first. I want to date you because I like you. All of you."

This time, she didn't bother leaning. Rhaven stepped out of her chair, tossed her arms around his neck and just kissed him as hard as she could.

Chapter 39

Psyc came back with the requested food, and the three of them joked about the next round while they ate. When they finished and stood to leave, Braden tugged Rhaven closer, stole a kiss against her neck, then leaned in to whisper in her ear. His words were soft and velvety, but not at all what she expected.

"Go have fun. Kick some ass. Seduce the boy in front of the world. Be the woman you want to be, baby." And then he just turned her toward the exit and swatted her ass.

Rhaven yelped, grabbing the spot even though it didn't hurt, and tried to give him her best dirty look. It didn't work. Instead, both men just laughed, but Psyc wrapped his arm around her shoulders as he led her out. Even worse, she liked it. She felt guilty for liking it, but the simple truth was that it felt good to have two different men making an effort over her.

Especially these men. Braden was the hottest guy she'd ever met. The fact that he was amazing felt like the icing on top. Psyc was the kindest man she'd ever met. The fact that he wasn't bad looking - at all - was the cherry. Combined, this was starting to feel like a pretty fucked-up cake, but Rhaven was ok with it.

She was trying to find a reason to resist Braden's idea while Psyc walked her back toward the gaming hall. Ironically, it was the sight of the USB drive booth that made her realize she was an idiot. Psyc pointed at it, asking if she wanted to stop simply because someone else had mentioned she loved those things.

Her feet stalled out and she turned to him. "Braden says I should flirt."

"To scare off KoG," Psyc said, nodding to show he agreed.

"No. He said you like me, and he's ok with that, and..." She shoved both hands over her face. "I do like you, Psyc." She slid her hands down a hair and peeked over the tops.

The smile on his face was nervously awkward. "Yeah," he mumbled. "Um, we've been friends a while, right? I mean, you know, I get it."

"Wrong like," she breathed.

Those dark green eyes of his jumped up and the man swallowed. "Oh."

"I'm blushing," she said, knowing he could see it.

Psyc swiped at his own face. "Yeah, pretty sure I am
