job to get Beyond Berlin’s new album recorded, no matter how much abuse I take in the process. Serena believes everyone at the label is there to serve her and I’m chief servant.”
I didn’t say anything. I never met the woman, but over the last few months, each text Jaxson sent me saying he’d be home late, or he had to cancel plans, included her name.
“But let’s not talk about her.” Sweeping out his hands, Jaxson bowed. “Dinner is served, my lady.”
It was quesadillas, fizzy soda, and candles in our bedroom, but I loved it more than if he took me to a five-star restaurant.
“No clothes at the dinner table.”
Especially because that wouldn’t fly in a five-star restaurant.
We stripped each other in the heat of whispered nothings and giggles. Jaxson set me on his lap and buried his face between my breasts.
“I’m home,” came his muffled voice.
I laughed. “I thought there was another part of me you called your home.”
“There is and we’re going to get thoroughly reacquainted tonight.” He raised his head to treat me to waggling eyebrows. “Three weeks. We have a lot of time to make up for.”
“I don’t think we can cram three weeks of sex into one night,” I said, smiling. “But if you really want to try...”
I shrieked as he flipped me back, dangling me off his lap. “That’s the spirit, baby.” Jaxson attacked me with nipping, growling kisses on my breasts and stomach. I squealed as my ticklishness battled my arousal. He was the master of making me laugh and turning me on at the same time.
I rolled off, a short-lived escape, and hopped on his lap, straddling him. I fed him bites of gooey, cheesy quesadilla and then tasted it on his lips.
Jaxson’s fingers dug into my waist. He rocked me back and forth on him, grinding on his length. Pressed against that bundle of nerves, shudders rippled through me with every rock, pulling breathy cries out of me.
Definitely couldn’t do this at a restaurant.
“Shit, Val,” he breathed. His grip tightened. There’d be delicious reminders of our night marking my body in the morning. “We can finish this later, can’t we?”
“Yes, we— Ah!”
Jaxson raced us to the bed. He threw me down and then flung himself on top of me. Looking down at me, our gaze connected in a spark of electricity that kicked my pulse into gear. Jaxson gazed at me like he was capturing the curves of my lips, lines of my cheekbones, and the fine hairs of my lashes to memory.
“You’re so beautiful,” he whispered. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Wrapping my arms around his neck, I drew him down. Jaxson caught my lip between his teeth, pulling me to meet him. Our mouths met in a rough fiery clash, tinged with the sweet, tangy flavor of imported green apple soda made with real sugar. I swore I tasted that sugar on his tongue. I wanted more. I wanted the far reaches of my body filled with the sugary sweetness of Jaxson.
He smiled. “Any requests?”
“Ohh,” I replied. “How about something with a beat?”
“Coming right up.”
He rolled off and reached for the remote on the nightstand. The room was soon filled with the heart-pounding melodies of Vibes Taranto. Jaxson and I had quite a few things that were just ours. One of them was playing music while we made love.
“How’s th—”
I shoved him on the pillows and climbed on top of him. I was very glad we took care of the undressing earlier. Running my hands up his torso, I delighted in the hard muscle beneath my fingers.
And he’s all mine.
My favorite Vibes song, Dancehall Daze, came on next. I could never resist dancing to this song and this time was no different. I gyrated, hair whipping across my face.
“Mmm,” I moaned. “I love this song, baby. Want to dance with me?”
A wicked grin stole over his face. “You know I like to give my girl what she wants, but you’re not on top tonight.”
The bedpost whirled as he changed our positions. He swallowed my yelp of surprise with a kiss and then my second cry as he slipped a finger inside of me.
He broke away, dropping soft kisses down my jaw to my throat. Jaxson found his favorite sensitive spot and sucked. Goose bumps rippled over my heated skin. The music, his peppery expensive scent covering the sheets, and the fingers plunging in and out of me. I was transported to a world where nothing else existed but Jaxson.
