Until Amy - Jessica Ames Page 0,44

appear for a second and I grin. Then she starts typing.

AMY: How am I supposed to get through the day when you’re saying shit like that?

ME: I want you thinking about me.

AMY: Congratulations. I am. I have to go. Patient needs me, but I can’t wait to see you tonight.

ME: I’ll be waiting outside the ER. Don’t leave without me.

AMY: I won’t. Love you.

ME: Love you too.

The thought of my mouth on her pussy has me needing to let off a little steam. I head into the bathroom, turn the shower on and strip out of my clothes. As I step under the spray, the heat blasts my skin. My room at the clubhouse is pretty basic, but the shower is out of this world. No shitty water pressure, like the ones in the London chapter, and endless hot water.

As I stand under the spray, I know I need to make a decision sooner or later about what I’m doing with Amy. My time here is drawing to an end. We nearly have the proof we need to point the finger at Mac and once we have it, I’ll need to return to London. Ravage never meant this as a long-term thing. Fuck, I never expected it to be a long-term thing either. Now that I’ve found Amy, I don’t want to leave Tennessee. I’m not sure where the hell that leaves me in the club, but there are brothers who have transferred between clubs. It’s not that unusual.

Stepping out of the shower, I wrap a towel around my hips. I dress then I grab my phone and call Ravage.

He picks up after the second ring and doesn’t bother with pleasantries.

“The fox still in the hen house?”

“We’re closing in. That ain’t why I’m calling.”

There’s a pause, then, “You crashed again?”

I snort. “I’m unlucky, but I ain’t fucking cursed.”

“What then?”

“I met someone.”

“Did you call me to talk about your fucking love life, ‘cause I got to say, brother—”

“No, I didn’t.” I interrupt before he can get going on a rant. “Ain’t sure I want to come back to London when this shit is done.”

“Fuck, really? Whizz, we fucking need you.”

“Know that, Prez, but ain’t wanting to leave.”

“You’ve been there fuck all time and you’re wanting to put down roots?”

“Met a girl who changed my fucking life, Rav. She’s like no one I’ve ever been with.”

“All right, don’t get soppy on me. Let me talk to Nox, to the others. You really want to transfer to Tennessee? Ain’t going to stop you, but you need to be sure, brother.”

“I’m sure.”

“Let me talk to the boys. You’ll need to talk to Omen too. See if he’s willing to transfer you over.”

“Okay.”

“Fuck, you go, I’m going to miss your ugly mug.”

“Now who’s getting soppy.”

“Fuck you, dickhead.”

I grin. “Talk later.”

I barely finish the call when there’s a knock on my door. I get up and open it to Flash. The brother runs a hand over his neck as he stands in the doorway of my room.

“She’s clean as a fucking whistle. Never even had a parking ticket. She did have some big court case against a local hospital, though.”

“I know about that.”

“Settlement was pretty impressive. Just over a million.”

My eyes flare at that. Amy’s never indicated she has money. Her house is modest, on the small side even. She doesn’t buy expensive clothes or shoes. Whatever happened to that money, she didn’t fucking spend it.

“The money?”

“From what I can tell was used to start up a group charity for harassment victims. She runs it once a week.”

That makes me love her even more.

“Thanks, Flash.”

“This woman—she’s important to you?”

I turn and look him in the eyes. “She’s everything to me.

Amy

Shane is waiting for me after work. I can’t stop the smile that creeps over my lips as I see him. He looks delicious, leaning against the wall outside the ER. His arms are folded over his chest. One is still in a cast, but the other shows all the veins and muscles that run up the limb. So delicious.

He pushes off the wall as I approach and holds his hand out to me. I take it without question.

“How was your day?” he asks.

“Busy.”

“Yours?”

“The same.” His shoulders are set tightly and I can see he’s wound tight like an elastic band.

“Everything okay?”

“Let’s just get to the car. Don’t like you being out in the fucking open like this.”

A shiver runs up my spine as my gaze roams around the parking lot. Does he expect Rick to attack
