also stupid tired.”

I laughed and lay with my head on his chest, smiling as he ran his fingers through my hair. “We can sleep longer

if you need to.”

“I need to figure out the time. I know you made me take one dose of meds, but I probably missed at least one as

well.”

I sat so he could get up. While he returned to the bedroom, I put my hands behind my head and stared at the

ceiling. My thoughts were filled with Charlie and our future together.

“You look like the cat that got the cream,” Charlie said, straddling me. He kissed me and then rested his arms on

my shoulders. “It’s almost midnight on Thursday.”

I clasped my hands at the small of his back. “Have you taken your meds?”

“Yup, it’s all good. I really need more sleep, though.”

“Me too.”

“The bed’s a mess.”

“Could we borrow the one in there?” I asked, jerking my thumb towards the room one of Charlie’s bodyguards

would have normally been occupying.

In order to give us a little more privacy, they were taking it in turns to sit outside the suite.

“Good idea,” Charlie said. “We should probably let whoever’s out there know that we’re both okay.”

“You might want to put some clothes on first.”

“You’re full of sensible ideas tonight.” He kissed me slowly, caressing my tongue with his.

“I thought you wanted to sleep?”

“I do. But I want to kiss you more.”

We kissed a little longer. I swept my thumbs back and forth over his skin. Then Charlie stood and led me to the

door.

“We’re both still naked,” I reminded him.

Charlie laughed. “I know.” He stood behind the door and opened it the tiniest amount. “We’re good. We’re going

to sleep.”

“Night, Charlie,” Trent’s voice said from the other side of the door. “Night, Austin.”

“Night.”

“We’re gonna borrow your bed,” Charlie told him.

“Figures.”

Charlie shut the door and took me into the other bedroom. It was smaller than the main room, but the bed was

just as comfortable. We lay with our limbs tangled together, stroking our fingers back and forth over each other’s

mate-marks. Every time Charlie touched mine, it felt warm and tingly.

“We should start talking about the future,” Charlie whispered in a barely awake voice.

“After sleep.”

“You need to tell Jesse.”

“We’ll tell him together.”

“I need to tell my dads.”

I stroked his jaw and kissed him. “We’ll tell them together too.”

“And we can’t put it off. T-shirts won’t fully hide my mate-mark, and I’ve got a concert on Saturday.”

“You could wear a roll-neck top.”

Charlie gasped. “Please tell me you’re not being serious?”

“What’s wrong with a roll-neck?”

“I take it all back.”

I laughed. “What’s that?”

“You are old if you think a roll-neck top is a good fashion statement.”

I rolled him onto his back, pinned his hands to the mattress, and kissed him hard. “I thought I was only as young

as the omega I was fucking?”

“You’re not fucking me right now.”

“Cheeky.” I kissed him again and then stared into his eyes. “Are you worried about telling your dads?”

“Father wasn’t exactly happy about us.”

“Your omega dad was more accepting.”

“True.”

“I’ll be with you,” I reiterated as I let him go and lay down beside him. “Neither of us is alone anymore, Charlie.”

“Nope. We’re an unstoppable team.”

“Unstoppable?”

“Yup.” Charlie sighed happily. “Damn, I love you.” He placed his palm over my mate-mark. “But you still haven’t

written me a song.”

“You’re thinking about that now?”

“Yes. I want a song, Austin Steele. I command you to write me one.”

“Oh, you command it, do you?”

“Yes.”

I kissed his throat and laughed against his skin. “Then I’ll obey,” I whispered.

“Sing me a song?”

“Which one?”

“‘He Thinks He Needs You’,” Charlie whispered.

“The song we sang at Jesse and Isaac’s wedding?”

“Yes, because that’s when it really began for us.”

I began to sing, changing the words of the chorus a little, so instead of singing “he thinks he needs you,” I sang, “

he knows he needs you.” Charlie’s lips curled into a smile, and his eyes closed. I stroked his hair as I sang,

keeping my voice soft and quiet as though I were singing a lullaby rather than a love song. When I finished the

final refrain, I could tell from Charlie’s breathing that he’d fallen asleep. I rested my head against the crook of his

neck and closed my eyes, letting myself slip into sleep. We would have plenty of time to plan our lives together

when we awoke.

“We can wait until tomorrow,” Austin said as I stifled a yawn.

I shook my head. I was still tired from our shared heat and
