Truth or Dare - Danielle Allen Page 0,6
could be risky… but truth… could also be risky. Thanks a lot Omar! Okay, I choose truth.”
“Oh!” Dom looked at Chloe and she grinned. “Tisha, when was the last time something happened between you and Eli?”
Latisha squeezed my arm with one hand and pointed between Chloe and Dom with the other. “You two are working together.” She shook it off and replied, “Dare.”
Everyone laughed.
“You can’t change now,” Chloe yelled, giddiness all over her face. “Answer the question.”
“What happens in Vegas is supposed to stay in Vegas,” Tisha replied coyly.
“Simone’s thirtieth birthday party?” Chloe squealed.
I sat quietly watching the whole thing play out as everyone put the clues together, remembering times when both of them would be missing at the same time. Eli and Tisha sat there grinning, not confirming anything else for them.
“It’s my turn,” Latisha started. She pointed at Kingston. “Truth or dare?”
“Y’all are going real hard on these truths and I don’t think I want that smoke. So… dare,” Kingston answered.
“I’m almost positive you’ve never had a drunken hookup within the friend group. So, I dare you to kiss Simone,” Latisha declared, pointing dramatically at me. “I don’t mean a little peck either. It needs to be for a full thirty seconds.”
My eyebrows had relocated to the middle of my forehead and my eyes were wide. I expected something coming my way during my own turn, but I didn’t expect it during someone else’s.
“I’m with it if Simone is with it,” he replied with a smirk.
“Oh! Oh okay,” I chirped in high-pitched confusion. I clapped my hands like we were about to run out on the field during a championship game. “Let’s go!”
He laughed as he crossed the deck. “You ready for this?”
“Are you ready?” I retorted with a grin.
When Kingston reached me, he offered his hand to help me up, but instead I pulled him to the couch. “First of all, I’m not going to be standing up kissing you for thirty seconds and we fall off the boat. Second”—I moved and situated myself on his lap— “if we’re going to put on a show, we are going to put on a show!”
They laughed.
I had one arm draped around his neck and the other pulling and adjusting my dress.
“Watch all that squirming now,” Kingston joked.
“See, he already can’t handle me,” I teased.
Once I was sure my dress wasn’t showing everyone on my side of the yacht my ass, I nodded. “Ready.”
Kingston held me securely so I wouldn’t slip. “I’m ready.”
“I’ll start the timer once your lips actually touch,” Latisha said.
I turned my head so that I was staring into Kingston’s eyes. And as soon as he leaned in, I giggled. He stopped moving and gave me a look before he laughed too.
He looked around at the group. “I can’t do this if she keeps making me laugh.”
“No, I got this,” I told him, putting my hand on his cheek. “I’m going to be serious.”
We were still grinning at one another as we leaned forward. My eyes closed and his soft lips met mine tentatively. Pulling me closer, his mouth moved over mine knowingly. Our kissing styles were so compatible that everything just clicked.
Unexpected butterflies spread across my belly as his delicious lips overpowered my own. I tugged at his beard before my hand caressed his cheek. His grip tightened on me and shivers shot up and down my spine as I felt him hardening under me. Deepening the kiss, his tongue parted my lips and grazed mine. My fingers stilled as a barely audible but completely unintentional moan escaped me.
“Time!” Latisha alerted us.
Pulling out of the kiss slowly, I opened my eyes to find Kingston staring back at me.
I didn’t even hear the catcalls and whistles immediately.
“That didn’t seem like a first kiss to me,” Chloe stage whispered.
“Yeeeeaaaaaah…” Omar started, stretching the word out. “They’re fucking.”
The joke shattered the moment and Kingston and I burst out laughing. I started to get off his lap, but his hand kept me in place. If the bulge that was pressed against the back of my thigh was any indication, I could understand his hesitance.
“I need to stay here for a second,” he whispered.
My lips curled into a smile as I nodded. I wasn’t able to speak anyway. I was still trying to get a handle on the fact that my body was reacting to him in that way.
“Okay, it’s my turn,” Kingston announced, rubbing his hands together. “Chloe, Chloe, Chloe… the beautiful bride-to-be. Truth or dare?”
“Truth…” She threw up her
