a little tired.”
Tisha sipped her coffee, but her eyes were laser focused on me. Every time we made eye contact, I felt like I was going to burst out laughing.
I rubbed my stomach. “I’m starving. Are we heading down for food or is it coming to us or…?”
“All that sleep really works up an appetite,” Tisha commented, amusement making her eyes sparkle.
My chin quivered as I held the laugh in. “Are you guys not ready to eat?”
The knock on the door pulled Chloe’s attention as she went to answer it. I gave Tisha a dirty look as I took a seat on the bed.
“Good morning, ladies,” Inez said as she breezed into the room.
Corrine got off the phone and entered just as the wedding coordinator started talking.
“Let me explain to you how today is going to go on this beautiful Saturday,” Inez began. “We are going to head down to brunch now. You’ll have thirty minutes and then I’m going to take you to the honeymoon suite for your hair and makeup. Your wardrobe for both the bridesmaids shoot and the wedding are already up there. Once you are securely tucked away upstairs, I’m going to get the men and take them to brunch downstairs. They will get ready in their rooms and then my assistant will bring them to the site for the groomsmen shoot. Now listen closely”—she lowered her voice— “under no circumstances are we to let Chloe and Dominick see one another. My assistant will take you back to the resort and I will stay with the men for their shoot. You’ll have time to eat and relax for an hour or so. Then we’ll do hair and makeup touchups and then we get dressed for the wedding. The rain looks like it’s going to hold off today, so fingers crossed!”
“Are we not taking any family photos?” Corrine wondered.
“The group photos with immediate family, the entire bridal party, and the bride and groom will happen immediately after the wedding. All of those will be sunset shots while guests are enjoying cocktail hour.”
Corrine nodded. “Oh. Okay.”
“Any other questions?”
I shook my head.
No one else had anything either.
Inez clapped twice. “Good! Let’s get this show on the road!”
Chloe squealed and her genuine excitement was infectious. I jumped up and down with her even though my thighs ached. It didn’t take long for Tisha and Maria to get pumped up even though they were operating on little sleep and a slight hangover. Even Corrine’s perpetually serious expression softened as she linked arms with her sister, and we headed down for brunch.
Fresh fruit, pastries, waffles, and assorted meats lined the table in the small section off to the side of the main dining area. A sign that said congratulations Chloe and Dominick hung from the ceiling, just above the juice and coffee.
“I’ll be back to get you in thirty minutes!” Inez informed us as she departed.
After loading our plates with goodies, the five of us sat at the round table.
“So, how was the club?” Corrine asked, looking between Tisha and Maria. “If you were up until five o’clock, it must’ve been a good time.”
“It was three o’clock, not five,” Tisha corrected her. She bumped me under the table and without looking at her, I immediately knew she was grimacing.
Chloe’s face fell. “Yes. Tell us. Tell us all about the fun you had.”
“Well,” Maria started, smiling at Chloe. “It was a lot of fun, to be honest. The only thing that would’ve made it better is if all of us were together.”
Tisha nodded. “We ran into a few of the guys and—”
“Who?” Chloe asked, chomping down on a piece of bacon. “Which guys?”
“Uh…” Tisha stuffed her mouth with waffles. Shrugging and gesturing to her mouth, she didn’t release any more information.
All eyes shifted to Maria.
“Who was there?” Chloe repeated, making a face. “I know Dom was there.”
“Phew!” Tisha huffed, sinking back into her chair. “If you didn’t know, I wasn’t trying to be the reason the wedding day went sideways.”
We all laughed.
Maria and Tisha told us about the nightclub experience. From the big projector that showed the music video of the songs being played to the men they danced with, it sounded like a memorable night.
Maria finished her juice. “We ran into Tyler and Eli first. Then we saw Dom and Kingston.”
“Wasn’t Omar there?” Corrine asked.
“I didn’t see Omar of Simone and Omar at the club, but he was at the casino at one point.” Tisha laughed to herself. “He was not happy.”
