Trouble - Devon McCormack Page 0,125
mouth, sweeping a bit up, and tasting as much as I could gather.
Fucking my man harder, I looked him in the eyes.
“Kiss me,” he begged.
I pulled my hand from my mouth and took his mouth, his tongue sliding across my tongue like he wanted to enjoy a taste of himself too. I bit gently on his bottom lip, tugging as each thrust took me to the end, before I felt myself shooting within him.
It was a transcendent experience. In my release, I felt totally free.
His arms hooked around me, his legs locking mine in place as we came down from the high together.
“Mmm…I love having my cum inside you,” I said, biting at his cheek.
“You fucking dork.” He laughed. “Besides, it’s mine now that it’s in me.”
He ran his hand through my hair, messing it up even more than it must’ve already been from our fuck.
I found myself getting lost in those bright blue eyes, sparkling as much as ever.
Kyle Forsythe.
The man I’d guarded and unlocked so many secrets with.
Somehow, we’d really fucking made it.
Behind that smile, though, there was something else too, and I wanted to be inside it just as much as I wanted to stay inside his body.
“What are you thinking?” I asked.
“About us. About how far we’ve come. About how free we really are.”
“Funny, I was just thinking the same thing.”
We kissed again, firming it together until we pulled away just far enough to breathe one another in. Once we managed to force ourselves apart, we cleaned off before returning to the bedroom, lounging side by side, my hand on his side.
But again, he still had this distant look…
“You’re thinking about more than us,” I insisted.
He eyed me, as though surprised I knew him so well.
“Tell me. I want to know. Please.”
He hesitated, but then smirked, as if realizing how silly he was being for keeping any secrets from me…the keeper of my Kyle’s secrets…at times the reason for them.
“I…um…” he began. “You remember me talking to DJ about the Safe Support Network downtown? I know I’ve been like, fuck college, but I think I might want to go to school…maybe become a counselor.”
“Really?”
Since he’d begun opening up more in therapy, I could tell he was starting to change, become more relaxed and at peace. I knew it was the spark that got him interested in volunteering, but I hadn’t expected this.
“I kind of didn’t want to say anything,” he added, “considering your experience with…”
“Oh, fuck her. I’m a free man now.”
“Like hell you’re free,” he snapped playfully.
I rolled onto my back, and rolled my head for a good laugh.
Kyle didn’t miss the opportunity to straddle my waist, grabbing my wrists and pulling them to the sides of my head, pinning me in place.
“If I were your wife,” he said, looking serious as ever, “I would promise to be loyal, honest, and faithful. I would build us a cage and give you the key…so I could be trapped in our love for the rest of my life…forever and ever.”
His words were almost vows, a wink toward where we both knew we were heading.
“I can live with this sort of bondage,” I said as we shared another of so many smiles. He kissed me again, but there was something I wasn’t letting go of. “I know you’re trying to gloss over it, but I think you’d be a great counselor, Kyle. Maybe as good of one as you’ll be my wife. And I think it’s amazing that you want to take your experience and help others.”
“Well, whoa, it’s an idea still, but something I keep thinking about.”
Yet somehow, I felt it was more than that. “I think it’s beautiful.”
“You’re beautiful, Mr. Nipples,” he said, taking a gentle bite at my pec.
I snickered, but I still wasn’t going to let him get away with shifting the conversation. “Whatever you decide, Kyle, you know I’m here for you.”
“I’ve just been thinking a lot more about where my life’s heading, now that my friends are going off to college. And I don’t know… I’m kind of lost, I guess. But I don’t mind it.”
“It’s a big transition. I can see you’ve been giving it a lot of thought. How could you not? You can act all tough and like you’re too good for the world, but…I’ve never been worried about you, Kyle Forsythe. There’s something special ahead for you.”
It wasn’t something I doubted. My Kyle would find his way, and I would be proud to witness it all as it unfolded.
He released one of my wrists and ran his finger along the crease in the middle of my palm.
I could see the worry in his expression. There were a lot of unknowns ahead of us. There would be laughter, tears, anger, pain… Life would show us everything awful, but it would show us everything good as well. As long as I had him close to me, that was all that mattered.
“You’ve got time to figure it out,” I assured him, “just like we have time for Machu Picchu next summer.”
His grin perked back up. We hadn’t talked much about those plans since we’d had to cancel after Tex had his stroke. It had been too much to consider, but I’d known even when we’d made our camping plans that we’d get there eventually. And now it felt like it was time to look forward to that special journey I wanted to take with him.
“If you’re ready by then,” I added.
“We can play it by ear. We’re pretty good at that.” He snickered. “It’s so funny.”
“What?”
“That morning we met, I was thinking senior year at Wyachet was going to be so shitty. It was a hell of a year, all right. But definitely not a shitty one.” He ran the backs of his knuckles along the scruff on my face.
“No, not such a shitty year at all…”

DEVON McCORMACK
A good ole Southern boy, Devon McCormack grew up in the Georgia suburbs with his two younger brothers and an older sister. At a very young age, he spun tales the old-fashioned way, lying to anyone and everyone he encountered. He claimed he was an orphan. He claimed to be a king from another planet. He claimed to have supernatural powers. He has since harnessed this penchant for tall tales by crafting worlds and characters that allow him to live out whatever fantasy he chooses. Devon is an out and proud gay man living in Atlanta, Georgia.
