A Tiger For Two - Lia Davis Page 0,8
keeping Luna in a warehouse on the coast of California.”
So that was why they were going. Purpose and a need for vengeance against the bastard who took Sasha’s Alpha flared to life inside her. But the coast was still a broad section to cover.
Sable looked up from the computer. “I’ve been searching through the files Alec and his team have been compiling on Felix and Onyx. Plus, I contacted an old rebel friend to see if she could dig up anything. As always, Serenity came through. She found an address for a warehouse under my mother’s name. But there may be a problem with us accessing it.”
Sasha glanced at Cam, then to Tanner and Jon, who both were leaning against the wall on the other side of the room. She noted the way they slightly leaned into each other so their shoulders touched. What is that about?
“The territory the warehouse is on belongs to the Wilde Wolfe Pack. The Alpha is very protective of his Pack and doesn’t like strangers. It’s rumored that even the rebels that pass through have to check in with him. If they don’t, his Enforcers will track them down like rogues.” Sable frowned and shook her head. “I wish I was going.”
Jared growled and she rolled her eyes. “Easy there, growly. Don’t burst a vein.”
Cam asked, “Are we looking at another Onyx Pack?”
Sable shook her head. “No, Kasen Wilde is a good Alpha from what Serenity said. He’s a control freak and since they live in a city with humans, coexisting with them, he keeps a tight lid on who enters and leaves. It’s how keeps the balance between humans and shifters.”
Alec pushed off the wall where he stood behind Blaine and shoved his phone into his pocket. “I’ve scheduled a meet and greet with Wilde for tomorrow afternoon.”
Brenna, who was sitting at the dining room table with her brother, Bryce, and her future mate, Nigel, announced, “I’m going.”
Hayden started shaking his head and Bryce added, “Nigel and I are too. Brenna’s astral travel ability will come in handy and well, wherever Bren goes, Nigel and I go.”
Frowning and scowling at the same, Hayden stared at the trio. Brenna and Bryce were Hayden’s mate’s twin niece and nephew. Christa had been the twin’s guardian since their mother was killed a few years ago. Since mating with Christa, Hayden had taken on the alpha protective father role with them. Bren and Bryce were just as stubborn as their human aunt and their wolf uncle. They were also a powerful combo for being so young.
“Torin will go with you.” Hayden glanced at his best friend and the wolf senior enforcer.
Torin gave a short nod of acknowledgement then pulled out his phone. Sasha guessed he was sending a text to his mate, Cora, who was also on the Alec’s IT security team. The submissive wolf was smart and had a gift for hacking computer systems and developing computer programs. It was a hidden talent that she didn’t think would ever help the Pack until Torin and she mated and gave her a nudge she needed to come out of her timid shell.
“Cora said to come by the office, and she will have the tracking devices ready for us.” Torin shoved his phone into his pocket.
Sasha glanced at Cam and the Alpha female smiled and answered the unspoken question. “Cora developed micro-trackers that can be injected under the skin. They have GPS tech in them and can allow us to track you guys down if you go silent for too long.”
“Oh, cool.” Sasha wouldn’t admit out loud that the devices gave her a sense of security. But not for herself. For Tanner and Jonathan, and now the twins and Nigel.
The meeting ended a few minutes later with Hayden and Blaine reminding everyone to check the Network for updates. Sasha made her escape without being pinned down by Tanner. The last thing she needed was to hear how he disagreed with his brother’s judgment of letting her join in on the hunt for Luna.
If the hot-headed sentry thought he could control her and make her stay behind, he had another thing coming.
Chapter Three
When Jonathan first woke up from his coma, he was angry and confused. His whole world since waking had been turned upside down. Luna had told him she and Blaine had to force Jonathan’s tiger to surface, bring on the shift from his human form to animal so he could heal. Otherwise he’d have died.
For the first month,
