Their Forever - Chloe Kent Page 0,49

care about anything except the fact that Tim was a threat to national security. He knew names of prominent people involved in his ring, people the unit still needed alive for a greater scheme.

He also knew that traffickers didn't just get bullets in their brains. No clean hits where they were concerned. They got tortured for days and days until they pleaded for death.

Liam had put his hand on his shoulder that day and told him he would take care of it himself. A mercy killing for a man who didn't deserve it.

Liam had saved his life then. Had brought him back harder and tougher than ever. But nothing destroyed him more than seeing his mother mourn her husband's death as if he were a saint. She only knew he had died suddenly and peacefully of a heart attack while sitting at his desk in the study of their house. She would never know the face of the last person he had seen was Liam Stone.

He never told her what his father had really been. She died thinking of him in the same way, his memory never tarnished in her mind, and Kade had often wondered if he had done the right thing, letting her believe that. There were times though he saw his mother slip up with a minuscule sign of relief before she pulled the veil of grief over it again.

He felt as if she were keeping what she believed was his father's pristine image alive for the sake of her son. He wondered if she did, in fact, know the type of man his father had been and was protecting Kade while grateful Tim was dead.

I'm calling it in, Tremayne.

Liam had uttered the words Kade had prepared to hear for years and years. He had conditioned himself that no matter what Liam asked he wouldn't question it; he wouldn't doubt it.

He just never expected him to use it as a prompt to fuck his wife.

The last thing Kade wanted to do because touching her once had driven him to insanity. Touching her again meant he wouldn't stop. He would take her, over and over again until that never-ending feeling of satiation she created within him was appeased for a moment before he passed her to Liam because he knew Liam felt the same.

Yet it was so crystal clear that Liam loved her. That his reasons for letting another man touch her were entrenched in the way he was raised. He couldn’t accept she loved him, couldn’t believe it as something true and pure.

Rubbing his hand down his face, Kade made a decision that he would do whatever Liam wanted him to do until he came to his senses and asked Kade to leave.

He was good at shielding his thoughts, his emotions. It's what kept him alive, and no matter how much she tortured him with her body, her voice, her whole being, he wouldn't break for her. Because when Liam asked Kade to walk away from his wife, he needed to be able to do that exactly.

And electrifying burn scorched its way across Olivia's skin.

She wanted to question Liam, horrified he had offered Kade to touch her naked body. She wanted Kade to leave. She didn't want him there. He displaced her horribly.

“Shh.” Liam leaned down and murmured in her ear softly. “You belong to both of us now, sweetheart. Do you understand?”

No, she didn't.

She tried to twist around in his arms, determined to face him and tell him she didn't understand. She would never understand his intention when it came to Kade for as long as she lived.

But he kept her positioned straight in front of him, his grip tightening on her, and a deluge of wetness spilled onto her naked thighs.

“Liam please,” she whispered.

“I'm calling it in, Tremayne.”

Liam's words sank into her, and while her brain failed to filter it through, she understood the direness of them. Her resolve threatened to crash into a million pieces as something else teetered just a little out of reach in her mind's eye. She couldn't pin the distressing thought down long enough to analyze it, but she knew from the way her heart seemed to hollow out when she thought about Liam that it could just destroy her.

She couldn't let Kade touch her again.

She just couldn't.

Quivering in her husband's arms, with fresh tears rolling down her face, as she repeatedly begged him to let her go, Olivia thought she would die when Kade slowly turned around to
