didn’t give him up.
“I need to get him to his father.” I murmur, tears filling my eyes yet again.
“Do you have any way of contacting him?”
Closing my eyes, I shake my head vigorously. “No, I don’t know his name.”
“How would you get your baby to him then?” she asks.
“I know what club he’s with,” I sigh.
“Club?”
“Motorcycle Club.”
“Ahh. Okay so what if I took you to this club? Maybe he’ll let you stay,” she suggests.
“I highly doubt that, I don’t even think he knows who exactly I was when we slept together,” I mutter. “Besides, Mason has at least one or two of his men watching the hospital, you know in case I tried to run away after leaving here.”
“God, I hate this mess for you. Where is this club that Cody’s dad is with?” Tinsley asks.
“In Virginia, why?”
“I might not be able to do much but there are a couple things. I can call my cousin. Have him help me get Cody to his father for you until we can get you out of the clutches of your brother.” Tinsley suggests.
“You would do that for me? You don’t even know me?” I argue.
“I have a talent for knowing good people when I see them. And you, Milley, are a good person who has been handed a shit hand in life. It’s time you are able to live your life without the pain.”
“Umm, thank you but . . .”
“No buts. I want to help and if this is the only way I can then it’s what I’ll do. Do I wish I could help you get away from your brother’s men? Yeah definitely. But from what you described; they’ll have you before you even got out of town.”
Ain’t that the truth.
Before I can respond, the door to my room bursts open and my eyes widen in fear as not only Mason storms into the room, but Sam as well. Great.
“Hey, Mills, how you doing?” he asks with a fake as hell smile on his face when he sees Tinsley sitting next to me.
“Umm.”
“You okay, baby?” Sam asks, coming to stand close to the bed putting a hand on my shoulder and squeezing his fingers into it.
“I–I was just talking to Tinsley about putting the baby up for adoption,” I blurt out wanting to protect the woman. She doesn’t need to be caught up in this mess.
“Nonsense, baby. We’ll bring him home. When do you two get to leave here?” Confusion fills me at the way they are acting.
What’s going on here?
“She’ll be here for at least two more days,” Tinsley states as she stands up from where she’d been sitting next to me.
“Well, we’ll be back when it’s time for you to come home. Just wanted to check on you and make sure you were good.” Mason says before leaning toward me, acting like he was going to hug me. “Just because I said that doesn’t mean you get to keep the kid. I intend to sell him and have a buyer lined up.”
My heart sinks to the pit of my stomach at what Mason just said.
No. No. No. Please God, no.
The moment they leave the room, I glance over at Tinsley. “I need to get him out of here. ASAP,” I say, tears burning as I try my hardest to hold them back.
“Don’t worry, we’ll get him and you to safety. I promise. This is what I want you to do. Go ahead and write a letter to Cody’s dad. I’m going to call my cousin and see what he can do. If he can’t get you both out of here tonight, I’ll take Cody and run him to his dad. Just tell me where I’m going. Okay?” At Tinsley’s calm soothing voice, I try to get a hold of myself. But the thought of never seeing my son again, is ripping my heart from my chest.
Nodding, I lift Cody in my arms to kiss his forehead. “Don’t worry sweetie, Mommy is only trying to protect you.”
Tinsley moves toward the window and pulls her phone out of her pocket. A moment later she puts the phone to her ear and waits. “Hey, Grigory, I’m sorry to bother you but I need your help with something.”
Chapter Three
Coyote
“Hey, brother, you ready for this party tonight?” Ranger asks as he flops down in the chair next to me in the main room of the clubhouse.
I’d only just gotten in after going down to visit Twister’s club for a week. I swear since Izzy
