Take a Breath (Take #1) - Jaimie Roberts Page 0,111

it’s already eleven-twenty.

“Hey, are you guys really still up?” I watch him, smirking, but stay silent. “What?” he asks.

“Come on, tiger. Who is this Cindy, and how long have you been hiding her?” Jake looks as eager for him to answer the question as I am.

“We’ve been hanging out for a couple of months. I really like her, but I didn’t want to say anything because I didn’t know how it was going to go.”

I bite my lip on a smirk. “Well, judging by the look I saw on her face, I’d say the feeling is mutual.” Matthew seems pleased by my remark.

Jake clears his throat. “You’ll have to invite her to come for dinner sometime soon then.”

Matthew nods and smiles at Jake. “Thanks. I will. By the way, Clive was all up in my face about the two of you when we left.”

I wince. “I’m really sorry about that. I didn’t think.”

“It’s okay, but he won’t shut up about it. I keep telling him to concentrate on his girl instead of asking me questions about what’s going on at home between you and my dad.”

Oh, dear.

“I feel terrible now. I’m so sorry,” I say, feeling guilty. He walks over, gives me a hug, and tells me not to worry.

“I need to crash, guys. I have school tomorrow, and I’m beat.” I can already tell this is true by the way he’s dragging his feet.

“Don’t you want something to eat?” Jake asks.

“No, I’m fine, Dad. We all went for pizza after the game, so I’m good.”

Saying goodnight, Matthew goes up to bed. Very soon after, I notice how heavy my own eyes are.

“Come on. We have to be up in just over six hours.” I give him a look. “Ana, I could never be that tired. Once the alarm goes off, you’ll just have to lie there and think of England.”

I laugh loudly. “As if I could ever do that when I’m with you.”

We put our plates away in the dishwasher, and he lifts me to carry me upstairs. “You really don’t have to keep carrying me everywhere, but I could definitely get used to it,” I admit.

He kisses me tenderly and offers me a cheeky grin. “So could I.”

Again the alarm goes off at six, and again, I want to go back to sleep, but Jake is nibbling at my ear, and that gets all my senses going into overdrive. Once again, he has me at his mercy. “You’re incorrigible.”

He inhales the scent on my neck. “Hmm, I just can’t get enough of you.”

His hands are suddenly everywhere as I’m gently pulled out of my sleep into perfect bliss. Will it ever stop feeling like this?

I turn to face him as I reach down to grab his cock. It’s throbbing against my touch as he moans in appreciation.

“Always so ready,” I whisper.

He moves on top of me and places his hand on my pussy. “I could say the same for you.”

After another spell-bounding morning in bed, we get ourselves ready. I decide on a nice white and pink floral dress for today. I grab a muffin and juice for Joe and make my way outside.

“Oh, hello. I was expecting Joe,” I say, surprised once I get to the car.

Steve laughs. “No, Joe’s on days. He should be heading to work now.”

I feel remorseful all of a sudden. “Sorry. I didn’t realize it was you in the car when we got back. I thought I was waving at Joe last night.” A look of guilt comes across my face as I remember how eager I was to get back home and execute my plan.

“Don’t sweat it.”

I hand him the muffin and juice then walk back into the house. Jake lightly pats my backside as we say our goodbyes to Matthew.

Again it’s another beautiful sunny day, with not a cloud in the sky. I feel nervous about going in to work after how upset I became yesterday, but I know I can’t let this beat me. I can’t let him beat me.

I suddenly remember with annoyance that I won’t have Jessie with me today. It makes me wonder how she got on last night. With that on my mind, I pull my phone out to text her, but remember again that it’s early and that she might be having a lie-in. I don’t think she would appreciate me texting if she is.

As I contemplate putting my phone away, I remember how sick Tony looked yesterday. I wonder if I should text
