Stepping in to him, I pressed my hands to his chest and then rose up on my tip toes to nuzzle his jaw. The barest of smiles flickered against his lips as I kissed a path down to his pulse point. “Why are you helping me?” I had to ask.
“Because once upon a time, little sváss, I was you. Alfred…you will have to figure that part out on your own. I did as well.” Then he dipped his face, and his lips just barely brushed mine as he continued, “You are always welcome, and if you need me, call.”
“Are you in the phone book?” I couldn’t help the tease. I hadn’t seen my own cell phone in almost two months. Who knew what I had to go back to in Dallas. I doubted my landlord kept my apartment. Fin had indicated it had been cleaned out. Whether it’d been the landlord or Isaac was anyone’s guess.

Pressing a swift kiss to his lips, I dug my fingers into his shirt. He tipped his head up and back, then I struck. No hesitation.
