Six-Gun - Winter Travers Page 0,46
She winked at me. “I got some shit to do in the back. Get those drinks delivered and then you can take your break.”
“I just took one,” I reminded her.
“Then you better take advantage of my niceness and take another.” She pointed at Six-Gun. “You hurt her, I’ll chop your dick off. You got me?” she threatened.
Six-Gun held up his hands. “You don’t have anything to worry about, Mitzy.”
“Keep it that way,” she warned. She fanned her face with her hand and sighed. “Am I the only one who is hot?”
Raelyn shook her head. “I’m a little cold.”
“It’s actually not too bad out here tonight,” I agreed. Some nights, especially when it was summer, it got hot on the floor. It was almost October, and things were cooling down a little bit. As much as California cooled off.
Mitzy shrugged and tossed the bar towel in the hamper under the sink. “If you see Tank, can you tell him I need him in the back?” she called to Six-Gun.
Six-Gun nodded and gave her a two-finger salute. “I’ll send him your way, boss lady.”
She rolled her eyes and walked into the backroom.
“Did you manage to breakdown Mitzy’s walls?” he asked me.
I set my tray down on the bar and turned around in his arms. My tables could wait a minute.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and shrugged. “Mitzy and I are sort of kindred souls.” I hadn’t told Six-Gun anything Mitzy had told me. It wasn’t my story to tell.
“You and Mitzy?” he laughed. “You two couldn’t be more opposite.”
I shrugged. “She’s not that bad,” I drawled.
Raelyn laughed. “She’s not as bad as I thought she was when I first met her, but she’s still up high on that bitch meter.” She raised her hand above her head. “She was here,” she moved her hands down an inch, “and now she is here.”
“Bitch meter, huh?” I laughed.
Raelyn held up her glass of bright yellow pineapple juice and rum. “It’s this juice. It loosens my tongue.”
“Does she know that’s probably all rum with a splash of juice?” Six-Gun whispered.
I laughed. “Yeah, because that’s how she ordered it.”
“Make sure she doesn’t drink too many of those. Playboy isn’t here to keep any eye on her.”
I patted Six-Gun’s shoulder. “I know. So that means it falls to you to keep an eye on Raelyn.”
“What?” he grumbled.
I turned and grabbed my tray from the bar. “I’m in the middle of my shift, Six. All you’ve been doing is talking to the security and watching me. You can sit next to Raelyn and still watch me.” I pressed a kiss to his lips. “I promise I’ll make it up to you later.”
“Oh, yeah?” he whispered.
I nodded and pressed another quick kiss to his lips. “Yes. Maybe we can argue and I can distract you.” I winked and pulled out of his arms.
“Or we could skip the arguing and you can just touch yourself while I watch.”
I glanced at Raelyn to make sure she didn’t hear. She was trying to fish the cherries out of her drink with her straw.
“You got it, Six. Anything you want.”
He grabbed my waist and pulled me to him. He pressed a rough kiss filled with promise. “You’re mine, Memphis.”
I leaned into him and took in the moment.
“And you’re mine, Six.”
Forever.
Chapter Nineteen
What the fuck…
Mitzy
“Oh, sorry.” Rain hustled to get around me and bumped into me.
“No problem, girl.” I grabbed the pen I dropped and put it in my pocket. “You about to go on?”
She nodded and smiled wide. “Yup. Gotta make that money, girlfriend.”
“Go get ‘em.” Most of the girls didn’t like Rain, but I never had a problem with her.
I stepped into my office and plopped down in my chair. I fanned my face with my hand and sighed. What the fuck was going on with me? I did not feel good at all.
The room spun slightly, but it stopped with a shake of my head.
“Maybe I’m coming down with something,” I wondered out loud.
Twenty minutes ago, before I had gone out to the bar, I had felt a headache coming on so I popped a few Tylenol to cut it off before it got bad.
Now I felt like I was going to pass out.
My stomach flipped, and I blinked rapidly.
“What the fuck,” I slurred.
I reached for the bottle of pills I had taken. Maybe I had grabbed the wrong bottle from the dancers’ dressing room and popped some strange pill.
My eyes focused on the label that read Tylenol.
My head lolled
