provoked. Talk about powerful sensory stimulation overload. Pretty boy’s pheromones pack quite a punch, and I, for one, do not want to be knocked out again. My hormones couldn’t take it, nor could my attention span.
I’m just about to take my second step through when the jerk places a hand on the wall, blocking my passage. I instantly turn to flee from the other side, but his forearm is now pressed against that side, too, rendering my exit strategy obsolete. I crane my neck back to look up at the big gorilla, not so silently killing him in my mind with the daggers flying from my eyes.
“You’re starting to piss me off, Finn,” I tell him through gritted teeth.
“Ah, so you do know my name,” he goads, his sweet, minty breath tickling my nose, and his autumn-night scent seeping into my skin, teasing me that he’ll be the lead role of tonight’s fantasies.
Damn it all to hell.
Instead of the back-and-forth banter I know he’s lusting for, I jam my knee up as hard as I can, hoping the impact to his nuts will have him crying like a baby. To my dismay, Finn is too fast for me. He grabs my knee without even flinching, parting my legs until he’s fitted perfectly in between them. Thank God I’m wearing jeans because the heat of our cores colliding has me squirming like a virgin on her wedding day.
“You don’t have a boyfriend,” he rasps, his translucent eyes transfixed with mine.
“Is that a question?”
“No. I know you don’t.”
No surprise there. He’s stalked my ass long enough to know I don’t have time to eat, much less date.
“Lucky for you, since this is quite a compromising position you’ve put me,” I retort sarcastically, pointing out how he has me pinned to the wall like he’s about to ravish me, fucking me good and hard right here for everyone to see.
Shit.
Guess I’ll have to stock up on batteries with that little scenario stuck in my head now.
He lets out a little smirk but doesn’t move an inch. I remain trapped between the two walls—both the cold one at my back and the hot one scorching my front. I know exactly which one I’d rather been leaning against, but I do my best not to cave into the temptation.
“You know this could be classified as harassment,” I warn, flicking my tongue ring at him, feigning indifference to the tight quarters he has us in.
No way in hell will I let on that his close proximity is making Mary Kate and Ashley stand to attention. Luckily, his eyes are no longer enchanted with the twins. Nope, those sapphire blues are studying my face, as if memorizing every inch of it.
“You can get me off you anytime you want. Just say the word.”
His light eyes dance when I place my hands on his chest, but I make no effort to push him away.
“Tell me something. Did I put my name down for some sort of stalker raffle?” I ask instead, grateful his chest is no longer chafing against my sensitive breasts.
“Something like that,” he grunts.
I watch, confused, as the playful glint in his eye takes a back seat to an emotion I can’t quite put my finger on. It’s almost as if the little joke I just made saddened him. No, sad is the wrong word for it. It looks more like concern. Worry, deep-rooted worry. Seriously, this guy is mindboggling—hot as sin yes, but still damned frustrating to read.
“God, you’re weird. You know that, right?”
“You’re not the first person to think so, Stone. My best friends tell me that shit all the time.”
He lets out a timid chuckle, and wouldn’t you know it—that little hint of boyish shyness has my core splashing away like fucking Niagara Falls.
“They do, huh? And what do your so-called friends think about you chasing a Southie around campus like a lost puppy?”
“I’m no lost puppy, little girl, but I have been known to bite.” He winks at me.
“That makes two of us,” I warn, snapping my teeth to give him the visual of how I could tear him, limb from limb, if given the chance.
“Fuck. I bet you do, don’t you?” he lets out gruffly, his sultry gaze dropping to my lips.
I wish I could tell my body to take a chill pill, but my feverish skin enjoys his hungry eyes on me. A little too much if you ask me. The fluttery sensation in my body intensifies when Finn leans
