Secrets Worth Keeping (Finding my Home #2)- Nikita Parmenter Page 0,42
Jensen arms, he lifts me up and carries me out of the room his lips on mine.
“Put her down Jensen, you’re clumsy enough as it is, lets not tempt fate by having you walk whilst distracted and carrying our Dragonfly” Trick chuckles and Jensen grunts before reluctantly putting me down, his darkness plays in his eyes as he rests his forehead against mine. The guys streaming past us to get to the kitchen.
“You are absolutely perfect for us, Angel” he says sincerely.
My stomach bursts with butterflies as my chest warms with emotion. Emotion still makes my insides squirm, so I smirk and kiss him again, trying to show exactly how much his words mean to me, then dart past him.
“I’m going to eat all the bacon” I chuckle.
Sprinting into the room the guy’s all stop plating up and watch me as I quickly take my seat, Kat and Rob watch me with their eyebrows raised until Jensen comes careening around the corner.
“Don’t you dare eat all the bacon, Angel” he yells before his socked feet hit the smooth wood flooring in the dining room and he lands on his ass. Everyone immediately bursts out laughing.
“Here you go, gorgeous” I say feeling bad although still giggling as I hand him a piece of bacon, he winks at me still on the floor and hops back up taking his seat next me.
Breakfast is a loud and quick affair and afterwards we all help Jenny clear up as everyone starts to arrive to decorate the tree. Jenny’s already reloaded the table with buffet style food for people to pick at throughout the day since the dinner at Cash’s is supposed to be legendary and everyone wants to save their appetite. Kat, Rich and Marc all arrive together and I grin happily when I see them. A quick glance around at the guys shows I’m not the only one that notices, Jensen smirks. He kisses me softly and the walks over to his dad pulling him off to the side.
I give them the privacy to talk and follow everyone into the living room, it’s a good job Trick doesn’t have a small house, there’s a lot of us in here especially now that all of the guys parents and Riot’s aunt have arrived. Thankfully Trick’s house isn’t small and it doesn’t feel cramped. Luc’s parents are obviously nowhere to be seen and after everything that I’ve learned about them I’m freaking glad. Walking into the front room I can’t help the way my eyes widen at not only the size of the massive real Christmas tree but the multiple boxes of decorations.
I do my happy dance before I’m even aware I’m doing it and Cash swoops in wrapping his arms around me and swaying with me before he spins me out and back in dipping me and making me giggle as my heart soars in my chest he quiets my giggles by grinning and then placing a soft kiss on my lips before standing me up again. My grin is so wide it makes my cheeks hurt as I gaze up at him, my hands gripping his t-shirt and his smile softens as looks at me.
“What was that for?” I ask quietly.
“I couldn’t help myself, il mio Cuore” he says sweeping his hand across my cheek and tucking my hair behind my ear.
The room erupts in applause and cheers and I duck my head, shit I completely forgot everyone was here. When I peek up at Cash, I see two dark pink splotches on his cheeks as he blushes, seems he forgot too. I catch his eye and wink him, making him chuckle.
“That’s my boy” Marc yells making everyone laugh.
“Dad!” Cash groans swiping his hand over his face.
“Leave them alone” Kat scolds mildly as she lightly smacks her hand against his chest, “time to decorate, you kids make the popcorn and dried fruit garlands” she orders and she soon as everyone including the adults organised and doing their jobs.
The Christmas music gets turned up and everyone sings along including my guys, some of whom, erm Jensen, can’t sing at all, not that he seems to give a flying monkeys as he enthusiastically sings at the top of his voice. We’ve been decorating for a while and I take a break leaning back and just watching everyone around me. They are all laughing and joking, singing and dancing and just enjoying each other’s company.
It couldn’t be further from what Christmas was like back in Fresno.
