Secrets Worth Keeping (Finding my Home #2)- Nikita Parmenter Page 0,128
baking and the others are probably reading or something we’re good for a while. We can lock the door anyway.”
“Awesome. Put some music on then, Trickster. I’m starting on the roof” I grin and his eyes flash with that feral heat briefly when I call him Trickster.
He fiddles with some buttons on his phone and suddenly music is coming from all around us.
“You guys really have this house subtly tripped out with gadgets don’t you?”
“Oh yeah, Dragonfly” he smiles. “Need a hand getting up?” he gestures towards the truck and I grin.
“If I dent it, it’s your fault” I chuckle as his eyes go wide. “Hold my beer” I say dead seriously, the last line that someone always says before they do something undoubtedly stupid.
His grin widens as he takes my beer off me and watches me curiously. I make a show of warming up and taking my socks off, which earns me an odd look from Jensen. I then wink at him before I run at full speed and use the edge of the truck to help propel me up, it’s honestly that big. I land on the bonnet of the truck on my toes, wobbling slightly before I stand up and raise my arms in the air in victory.
“Nailed it!” I grin down at Jensen.
“That was awesome Angel” he grins back, handing me my beer and the bag of post-its.
“Thanks” I grin.
I crawl up the windscreen and start to do row after row of pretty different coloured post-it notes. Whilst I go Jensen periodically hands me more beers and as soon as I get to the hood he gives kisses too. It takes longer than it should since we keep getting distracted but I’m having a blast. Finally we’re several beers in and finished and we both step back to admire our hard work.
“We did good, Angel” Jensen grins.
“We did, where are the cups?” I say and he chuckles.
“Do you want to set the cups out or pour the water, we can use the hose.”
“Damn you really have thought of everything, why don’t we take it in turns you lay the cups first and I’ll do the water then we’ll swap.”
“Good plan, Dragonfly” he says handing me the hose and pushing two big cardboard boxes of solo cups up by the door. “We’ll start here, there’s more beer in that box” he points to one of the boxes and I raise my eyebrow, “don’t look at me like that, it’s not all beer there’s solo cups in there too. We need to get going though, they’re going to come looking for you soon” he rolls his eyes and chuckles.
We start setting out the cups, laying them out on the entirety of the garage floor surrounding the truck as well. I get increasingly tipsy as I go and judging from the louder off key singing coming from Jensen he is too. We don’t bother swapping halfway through so it shocks me when my back hits the wall.
“What the fuck” I say glancing up from the cups and then promptly laughing my ass off.
Jensen looks at me questioningly but I can’t get a word out through my laughter and just point. We have managed to do the entire garage floor but we were so focused on our prank and admittedly enjoying the beers that we have somehow also managed to back ourselves into the far corner of the garage, opposite the trailer and nowhere near either the door back into the house or the garage door.
We’re stuck.
Jensen bursts out laughing joining me before he abandons the cups and grabs me hauling me up into his arms, my legs wrap around him and I waste no time in crashing my lips against his. His tongue tangles with mine and every nerve in my body comes to life. When I pull back, breathing heavily I grin at him.
“Looks like we’re stuck here for a while” I chuckle.
“True, wouldn’t be so bad but I need to pee” Jensen says.
“Oh great now I need to pee, damn it” I grumble, “it’s your fault for giving me all those damn beers” I smirk and kisses me hard.
“On the count of three yell as loud as you can for the guys” he suggests.
“But we locked the door?”
“Oh they’ll get in don’t worry, Angel” his grin turns harsher, “we’ve got a lot more tricks up our sleeves than we’ve shown you so far. I think the others are worried it might scare you” he leans in again
