isn’t the kind that you’ll wake up from tomorrow and start to regret.”

He sounded so confident, while I couldn’t look beyond tonight yet. Tomorrow I could think about the consequences and possible regrets.

“Let’s pull on three.” August indicated the horn.

“Okay.”

“One, two—”

I pulled on the horn before he got to three, and at his stunned expression, I burst out laughing. “I couldn’t resist.”

“Then you won’t mind that I can’t resist doing this either.”

August snatched me around the waist and pulled us up chest to chest. It was so different being with him than a woman. His arms came around me, and I felt…cherished. His mouth connected with mine, and everything fell away but the seductive movement of the train and his lips on mine.

Were we even alone? Impossible with the one hundred and fifty diners who were aboard the train, but most had already moved on. In any event, the only thing I cared about was to get August to continue kissing me.

“I told myself nothing would happen between us on our first date,” he murmured against my lips.

“You were lying to yourself. It’s all about to happen.”

I was so getting screwed tonight, and I didn’t even have the patience to worry that this would be my first time. True, I had fumbled around in my roommate’s pants a few times back in college, but this was different. I didn’t want just a blow job or a hand job.

I wanted to feel August inside me.

Chapter 16

Auggie

“Uff.”

My back hit the door, and Charles was on me, his hands in my hair, as he smashed our lips together. Amused, I allowed him to take charge, allowed him to expend some of the tension that had been building on our date. I’d sensed how eager he was before, but I was hoping we could talk before we ended up in bed.

My cock hardened at the way Charles kissed me, no shyness behind it. He kissed like a man who knew what he wanted and was willing to go after it. His lips roved mine eagerly, his breathing shallow to my ear. With how close-fitting his pants were, there was no mistaking the thickness of his erection pressed to my body.

“August.” He moaned my name, and a shiver ran down my spine. “So hot. Need more.”

I needed to get a handle on this show stat. I resisted grabbing his ass like I wanted to and instead planted my hands on his back and rubbed his muscles. I tried to ease out of the kiss, parting our lips, but Charles kept chasing after them, eager, needy.

“Charles.” I gripped his shoulders tight and pulled him back. “Slow down.”

“Why?” He laughed softly. “You want this as much as I do. There’s no one else here but us.”

“There are some things I need to know first.”

“Like what?” He groaned and frowned at me. “You see how hard I am, right?” If I hadn’t been aware of it before, there was no way I could miss it now when he was grabbing between his legs, plumping his erection against the front of his pants. “What else do you need to know?”

“As impressive as that is—” I kissed him again, just giving him a taste of what was waiting for him if he was patient. “—I need to know a little bit more before I do this.” I took his hand and led him to the living room. “Let’s talk.”

“I thought we talked on the train and the ride back here.”

“Not about this.”

“Look, if it’s about…” His face had turned red.

“Go on.” This should be interesting.

“I think I’ll bottom.”

“Okay, but that’s not all we need to talk about. Have a seat, and I’ll check on Lucky.”

He hadn’t come out to greet us, and I assumed he was sleeping.

I loathed leaving Charles on his own, but I needed to make sure Lucky was okay. I found him in Dad’s office in the little nook Dad kept there for him. He was probably missing his daddies. He merely wagged his tail and lifted his head, then returned to his comfortable position.

I left the door ajar so he could get out whenever he wanted. I stopped at the kitchen and filled two glasses with a bit of the bubbly Declan had in his fridge from the wedding.

When I returned, Charles was sitting on the love seat.

“Is he okay?” An adorable little crease marred his forehead.

And he’d said he didn’t like the dog. Liar.

“He’s fine.”

I stopped before him and indicated for him to get up.

“What?
