Saving Blu (Kings Reapers MC #4) - Nicola Jane Page 0,40

and then help them to get back their lives. Most of the women in my employment have come from that sort of background.”

“I thought you brought women in from abroad?” I ask.

“Sometimes we’re contacted to help. That doesn’t happen too often, but when it does, I try and do what I can.”

“Illegal immigrants?” asks Ric.

“The mayor is on board” is all Vinn says in response.

“I think Anna would love to help out with that sort of thing,” says Riggs. “She’s talking about doing something other than staying at home with the kids.”

“We always need volunteers,” says Vinn. “Sophia’s Place will open in ten days. If you have any work coming up, legit work that is, think about giving these women a shot. Do we have any news on Cobra?” he asks casually, but I see his eyes flick to Ricardo to see his reaction on hearing the name.

“Nothing,” says Riggs. “All’s quiet on that front. Maybe the snake’s gone back into hiding.”

“You know I’m happy to help the club if he’s becoming a problem,” says Vinn.

“Cobra?” repeats Ric.

“Used to be the president at the Kings Reapers in Manchester,” explains Riggs. “A real nasty piece of work. Not how I want my club represented.”

“He’s a coward,” I add. “Goes after women and kids because he’s too scared to come after the big boys.”

“And you think he’s in London?” asks Ric.

“I know he is,” says Riggs. “His time is coming.”

“We only deal with Riggs and his men,” says Vinn. “This is their territory and the partnership is working well. If, sorry, when, you join my family, you’ll also be expected to only work with the Kings.”

Ricardo nods. “Of course,” he says with a smile.

The door opens and Gia enters. She’s wearing a white wool dress that reaches just under her ass with boots. Her tanned legs are on show and, damn, it gets my cock twitching. She smiles wide and I avert my eyes. Her smile makes me wanna do things to her mouth.

“Ric,” she says with an element of surprise in her voice. “Joining the family meetings?”

“I thought it would do him well to meet the Kings seeing as he’ll be working alongside them soon enough,” says Vinn. “Should we discuss a date while we’re here?” he suggests. I can tell that Vinn hadn’t prepared Gia for this part because she pales and her mouth opens and closes but no words come out.

“You mean a wedding date?” asks Riggs, and Vinn nods.

“We need something good to look forward to after everything,” says Vinn.

I ball my fists. I know there’s gonna be no wedding, not only because Vinn’s already said, but because I wouldn’t be allowing it to happen anyway, but just talking about it pisses me off. Vinn eyes my fists and smirks again. “Any preference, Gia?” She shakes her head. “Ricardo?” he adds.

“The sooner the better,” he says with a relaxed smile. He honestly thinks he’s gotten away with his bullshit lies.

Vinn pulls up the calendar on his phone. “Two weeks, I have Saturday free. I know a priest who’ll get us in.”

“Excellent. Can’t wait. Have to go. I left something in the oven,” says Gia, rushing from the room.

“Blu, go after her. She looked upset,” says Vinn.

“Me?” I ask, surprised.

“Yes. I can’t send Blade, he’ll fuck her. He fucks anything that breathes,” says Vinn, and Blade pretends to look insulted before grinning. “And Riggs and Ricardo are important in this meeting. You’re not.”

I leave, shaking my head in annoyance. I wanted to run after her, but it’s not a good idea, not with her looking so hot and me feeling so damn horny. I find her in the kitchen sobbing into her hands. When I place my hands on her shaking shoulders, she jumps in fright. I pull her against my chest and she sobs harder. “I know I don’t have to marry him,” she sniffles. “Vinn told me. But he said to play along for a bit and that’s weird. I hate lying to Ricardo. It’s like I’m part of a game but I don’t know any of the rules.”

I kiss the top of her head. “Vinn knows what he’s doing,” I assure her. “Trust him.”

“That word is so overused,” she mutters, wiping her eyes. “Trust. I can’t trust anyone at the minute. No one is telling me anything about how Dad died. I need to know so I can move forward. Not knowing is making it all worse.” She begins to sob again and this time tries
