Savage King: New Worlds - Milly Taiden Page 0,25

irritate the dragon shit out of his people.

Something strange was going on with them lately. Seldom had they traveled from their caves in the mountains. The creatures were not the kind to go out exploring, yet the kappy he chased in his tigron form this morning seemed to be doing just that. And this was quite a distance for the creature to be. What were the little dragon shits up to?

Luzzeh paced inside the cavern that he’d taken over the day the fairy queen banished him from his throne in the Crystal Kingdom. That bitch would die for taking his magic and control over the trolls. But first he had to get back into the kingdom to do that.

During his time on this goddess forsaken planet, he’d heard the legends and mythos of several peoples. Their stupid goddess happened to be the fucking fairy bitch herself. How ironic was that?

He’d found the location of a portal out of this place on an island on the other side of the planet the natives called the Standing Stones. That place was his ticket out of this dimension—all he needed was one of the queen’s stones used to open portals.

He spun around to face the kappy bowing to him. “You say there were three females?” he asked the scout.

“Yes, Your Highness. I heard a loud sound like trees being snapped and went to investigate. When I reached a spot in the jungle where the land had been cleared of all trees and vines, I saw a thing floating in the air and on the other side was a beautiful land bathed in sun with fields and trees.”

“And the females?” Luzzeh asked.

“Yes, Your Highness. They were arguing and holding something in their stretched-out hands that they all touched. The first two stepped through, then they got all screaming, and then the third popped out, and they all fell to the ground. The floating world disappeared.”

The story was much too similar to the three females brought to the Crystal Kingdom. It had to be the trio of queens. Two were promised to him, and he received none of them. Well, one he caught trying to rescue the king’s little sister from the troll dungeon. But the bitch queen got in the way of him claiming the female for himself because the damn fae king wanted her.

He wouldn’t make that mistake again. Next time, he’d just kill the woman and be done with her.

“What was in their hands exactly?” he asked the kappy.

“It was dark and hard to see, but when the women fell, one of them lost what she held. I saw a small stone bounce under a leaf.”

The troll king whipped around. “Did they leave it behind? Can you find it?”

“King, sire, they looked for it and found it.”

Luzzeh stomped his foot, shaking the cave floor. “I must get one of the stones. None of you have found anything powerful enough for me to use. This will be my only chance to get out of this piece of dragon shit dimension. Where did they go?” he asked.

“The killing tigron was nearby. I-I think it ate them.”

The king flew down the few steps to the kappy and kicked him in the side, sending him crashing into the rock wall. “You idiot. The tigron is not a normal animal. It has intelligence which I can’t say your species has.”

He climbed the steps thinking where the females would be. There was a good chance they were wandering the jungle and had been swallowed by a giant snake or poisoned by a flower dart. They could be anywhere. But if the tigron came upon them. . .what would it have done? It could’ve eaten one or two of the females. But he didn’t think so.

His one run-in with the creature was enough for him. The behemoth feline had fangs that extended past its lower jaw. And those white eyes were like nothing he’d ever seen. Plus, they held worldly knowledge even though the animal was a complete savage.

“Guards!” he yelled and two kappies, with handmade helmets hanging halfway off their heads, tripped their way through the cave opening, dragging spears twice their height. When they knelt and bowed, the pounded metal hats clanked to the floor. Their spears fell as they scrambled to recapture their headgear.

Of all the creatures on this planet, how sad was it that he was stuck with morons who had no sense of battle, who had no killer instinct. This dimension was a creation
