Rule Breakers (Off Limits #2) - Nicky James Page 0,34

of a textbook, revisiting the events of the previous Friday for the millionth time. I’d given Uncle Denver a counteroffer, and he’d accepted it. What I hadn’t anticipated was how it would feel to put that plan into action.

Knowing my dad had watched from the shadows as Uncle Denver fucked me still gave me shivers when I remembered it. However, the real thrill had come after. There were no words to express what I’d felt watching my dad take charge and fuck Uncle Denver. And then, when he’d pinned me to the bed and whispered in my ear…

I glanced around the library, my cheeks warming. Could other people see the guilty pleasure on my face? Did other people know how that had made me feel? I was two parts weirded out and about eight parts horny. The balance was definitely tipping in favor of Dad.

But why was everyone ignoring it? I felt like I was missing something. Were Uncle Denver and Dad talking on the sly?

Had I imagined the whole thing?

Had I made a fool of myself?

Dad had called me a child. The comment still smarted. Was the whole notion of the three of us together a joke to him? Was he grossed out? Turned on?

When Uncle Denver had first suggested it, I wasn’t sure how I felt.

Part of my mind slipped easily into fantasies about my dad, but another part reeled in shame. Then I remembered how his dick looked sliding into Uncle Denver’s ass, and heat flared up inside me.

A commotion on the stairs drew me from my quandary. I glanced up as the group of people who’d gone up a short time ago descended and headed for the front doors.

I checked the time and cursed. If I didn’t haul ass, I’d miss the bus to Mom’s house.

It was a twenty-minute ride, but it took longer because of the road conditions and the multiple stops we had to make to gather more passengers. I picked a spot at the back and leaned against the window. My phone chirped when we were about five minutes from my stop. When I pulled it out, my chest warmed seeing it was a text from my uncle.

Denver: Bad news. They’ve pushed the meeting since our guest speaker is running behind due to the weather. I won’t be out of here until probably closer to nine.

I sat bolt upright, tapping frantically at my phone’s little keyboard.

Edison: No! Nine is too late! I’m already on the last bus to Mom’s. How am I gonna get home? I don’t want to be there that long.

My phone rang.

“Uncle Denver, I would have canceled dinner had I known. Can’t you get out of it? Please.” An embarrassing whine took over my voice, and I cringed. “One hour with Mom is too many. I can’t stay there for several.”

“I can’t get out of this, Eddy. I would if I could. Why can’t you call your dad? Doesn’t he usually get you after these dinner things?”

I opened my mouth to respond, but no sound came out. The rumble of the bus’s engine vibrated my chest as the tires sloshed through the sludge left behind by the snowplows.

I tried again, waves of resignation hitting me and making me slump on the seat. “I… can’t. Please don’t make me call him.”

“Why?”

I dashed my gaze around the back of the bus and lowered my voice. “It’s weird now. Since last Friday, I just…” Don’t know how to confront him.

A pause. “Actually, maybe this is a good thing.”

“Uncle Denver, no. It’s not.”

“Edison, tell me what you thought of last Friday night.”

“What!?” My voice came out an octave too high, squeaking and drawing the attention of a few passengers. I hissed, “Now you want to talk about this? I’ve been waiting all freaking week, and you’ve said nothing. I can’t talk about it now. I’m on a bus… with people.”

The chuckle that followed my freak-out made me frown, but Uncle Denver conceded. “Maybe now isn’t a good time.”

“Ya think?” Again, the tone of my voice was far too high-pitched.

“However, this is a good opportunity to chat with your dad about this arrangement we’ve been considering. Call him.”

“Uncle Denver, I can’t just—”

There was a click, and I pulled the phone from my ear. He’d hung up on me. I gaped. “The fuck?!”

Someone rang the bell for the next stop. Registering the scenery out the window, I jumped up and snatched my backpack. It was my stop too, and I’d almost missed it.

As the bus pulled
