that again.”
“But you ditched me!”
“Only after you told me and Melanie to fuck off, arse face!”
Yuri didn’t quite remember saying that, but he supposed he might have. He’d been feeling like utter shite that whole night watching Jacki and Melanie be happy and in love and knowing he’d never, ever have what they did.
Yuri decided that hovering uncertainly in his own home was stupid, so he stalked across the room and fell heavily into a deeply cushioned chair.
“Would your highness like breakfast? Miss Jacqueline and I have already had our repast.”
Yuri saw through Philippe’s obsequiousness. He wasn’t being helpful. He was being snide. So to serve him right, Yuri said, “Yes, that would be brilliant. Can you cook me up a full English?” He smiled sweetly at his valet.
Philippe just smiled back at him. “Of course, sir.” Then he turned and headed toward the small, but well-appointed, kitchen.
Jacki walked over and flopped onto Yuri’s lap then rested her head against his chest. “I’m still angry with you,” she admonished, “but I missed you, too, and you scared the shit out of me. Don’t do it again, okay?”
Yuri hugged her and laid his cheek on her hair. “But you abandoned me.”
“No, you idiot. We went to the toilet then we came back to find the bill was paid and you were gone. No one had any idea where you’d gone. We searched up and down that street and got nowhere. We messaged you but you didn’t respond. Then we gave up and went back home so I could get some advice from Philippe. My next step was going to be to contact Angelo. I know you two don’t get along much, but I thought that he could maybe go to his security detail and have them look for you. But before I could give Angelo a call this morning, you came home. Where were you last night? Where did you go? I was so worried, Yuri!”
To his shock and not a small amount of horror, Jacki started crying.
“I’m sorry,” she sniffled. “I think I’m just over tired.”
Yuri stroked her hair. “I was with Angelo.”
Jacki pulled back. “No. You were not.”
He shrugged. “I was. I’m not now.”
“What happened?”
Yuri wasn’t sure where to start or how much detail to give. “He was the only one I thought of, really. There I was, all alone in London, and I hadn’t seen him in so long. So I texted him. The next thing I knew, he’d taken me back to his flat and I was in his bed.”
Jacki moved so she could see his face. “You did not.”
“I did. And then… something happened.”
“What kind of something?” Jacki asked, sounding both intrigued and mildly shocked.
“Something I… fuck. This is so weird. We fooled around, Jacks.”
She took a sharp intake of breath and her eyes grew large. “What kind of fooling around?”
From the kitchen came the clatter of dropped china. “My apologies, your highness. I accidentally dropped a plate.”
“Don’t worry about it, Philippe,” Yuri called back. “It’s just a plate.”
“Yuri,” Jacki hissed at him. “Talk to me right this second and tell me what you mean by ‘fooled around’ or so help me god I’m never speaking to you ever again.”
Yuri felt his face flush.
“Oh my god, Yuri. You’re blushing! Come on! Tell Auntie Jacki all about it.”
“Shut up. I thought you said you weren’t going to talk to me.”
“Come on! Tell me tell me tell!” She bounced a bit on his lap, crushing his dick and balls. Did guys actually enjoy this shit? The idea of it baffled Yuri.
“Get the fuck off me. You’re crushing my dick.” Yuri gave her a little push and she sat down with a slight huff in the chair next to his.
“Spill, dammit. Spill now.”
Yuri ran a hand through his clean hair and smelled Angelo’s shampoo. His heart lurched. He wished his hair was still long enough to bring to his nose and sniff it. And how stupidly pathetic was that, anyway? Sniffing his own hair to smell someone else’s shampoo. It was utterly moronic.
“We… uh… we both came.” He couldn’t bring himself to go into greater detail. Not even with Jacki.
“And?” Jacki drew up her knee and rested her chin on it.
“And then I asked him if he was still straight and he looked at me like I was crazy so I took a shower and left.”
Jacki pursed her lips in thought. “I think I’m missing some crucial details here.”
“Well, I’m not giving you a blow-by-blow account.”
“Did you blow him?”
