always pull off the uncomfortable lingerie and join her friends, but she wasn’t going to surrender an opportunity for intimacy with Josh. They needed to reconnect on all levels, and sex would be a good start. But what if he didn’t like the racy thong and bustier she wore? Some guys weren’t into black leather. Josh liked the fantasy of her being a nerdy, smart type. He loved when she wore his button-down shirt and little else. He’d gone nuts when she’d once worn a man’s sleeveless undershirt and barely there panties. She may have gotten everything wrong tonight with the heels and leather.
But shouldn’t she already know what turned her man on? Maybe or maybe not. They’d dated for a year and a half, and sex had always been good. Well, as far as she knew. She’d never had it with anyone other than Josh. Many people would find that surprising because she’d dated a lot of guys, but she’d never been willing to give her virginity away to someone she wasn’t committed to. She hadn’t wanted to end up like her mother and father—forced to marry. When she gave herself to a man, it would be forever.
Ellery looked around the room, catching sight of Josh’s backpack.
Hmm . . . he, unlike her, probably had his laptop with him.
Porn. Most guys watched it, didn’t they? And in her limited experience in viewing it, she knew they catered to all sorts of fantasies, like big boobs, older women, or even lactation. Of course, if any of those were Josh’s thing, he’d be out of luck. A guy in her finite math class had admitted to having a thing for pantyhose. She’d had a fascinating and eye-opening discussion with him about how all guys (and some girls) had things they were into, whether it was feet, lesbians, or redheads. Ellery had done a little research that night and had been shocked at what was out there.
So what was Josh’s true fantasy?
If she could find out, there was a possibility she could make it happen.
But that would be wrong. It felt skeevy going through his web browser. Still, some women did it. One of her friends had told her she’d once spied on her boyfriend to see what he liked in bed, and their relationship had been better for it. Ellery wasn’t sure she had time to figure out Josh’s fantasy trigger, but she could try. It would either pay off in a sexy dividend or be a huge invasion of privacy.
Do or die, Elle.
Ellery slipped over to the bedroom door and locked it. If she was going to snoop, she didn’t want him to stumble in on her. No need to kill the mood and start a fight. She might not find anything anyway. Josh didn’t strike her as the type to have a porn habit. He was too busy studying and bonding with his fellow future doctors. Besides, if he caught her, she could say her computer had died and she needed to fire off an email or two.
Lying already?
Ellery waved away the imaginary angel with her hands folded in prayer perched on her shoulder. Instead she embraced the sexy little devil on the other shoulder, who said, “Find his perversion and use it.” So she grabbed his backpack and pulled out his MacBook Air.
When she opened it, she faced a password page.
Damn it.
What would his password be?
His dog from childhood. What was his name? Grover? Homer? No, it was Howard. Ellery typed in Howard and pressed ENTER.
Nope.
HOWARD0206
Nope.
Not a dog. What else would he use? She tried a few more birthday-pet-family-member names before smiling to herself.
DOCTORPRINCE0206
Bingo. His dream job plus his birth date worked like a charm. His homepage came up, and she clicked on his browser history. A bunch of searches for medical jargon and research stuff came up. She scrolled down. Nothing that looked like porn. Part of her was relieved that he wasn’t looking at porn all the time. If she’d found a bunch of sites listed and paired that with the fact they hadn’t had sex in a long time, she’d be worried. But nothing looked remotely alarming other than he’d gone to Nordstrom a lot.
Before she shut his computer, she clicked on his bookmarks. Lots of research, stores, Facebook, etc. A few popular sites like YouTube and a luxury-car forum. Nothing, really. On a whim she clicked on his iCloud. Lots of medical papers and notes. Then she saw a video clip titled “The Experiment.”
