woke up just long enough to ask how you were. I told him you were fine and that you’re with Aries now, figuring shit out,” he adds at the end, making me grin. That’s Danny’s way of telling me he knows who I’m with, and he’ll track my phone if I’m not back or if I don’t report in within the designated six hours I set out.

“Did Chris go on her date?” I ask, needing to know if she has the boys.

“Yeah, she’s going to be busy for a few days but said to call anytime if you needed her.” I let my body relax, knowing she’ll guard Kevin and DJ with her life.

“Good, I’m happy for her. She doesn’t need to worry about things here, tell her to have fun in Safe Harbor.”

He’s quiet for a moment as he takes in my words. Safe Harbor is our code for our safe house. Knowing how dangerous our lives are daily, he must have figured out for me to mention it that shit is about to hit the fan.

“I’ll pass the message along.”

“Thanks, D, you call the cleanup crew yet?”

“Yeah, they are here working on it now as we speak. I’ll leave you to it and call later if we find out anything else.”

“Sounds good. Stay vigilant and nobody on the teams goes anywhere alone,” I order, not willing to risk any of my men.

“You got it,” he agrees before hanging up.

“Another man you have wrapped around your finger?” Jude snaps, his hands squeezing the wheel tightly.

“Not your business now, is it, Jude? I don’t belong to you or your brother, so who I let between my legs is entirely up to me,” I snap back, pissed that he thinks he has the right to be jealous.

I’m not dumb enough to think either of the Reid boys is living a life of celibacy, so if they think for one second I’m going to, they are in for a big surprise. I mean sure, I might not be fucking anyone right now, but that doesn’t mean I won’t ever. I think of Will and Cash, knowing either of them would take me up on the offer, if only for a night. Something has held me back from taking it further than kissing. Why? I don’t know, because I sure as shit don’t plan on waiting around for the Reid boys forever.

“Don’t go there, Viddy, not on this,” he growls at me, but I don’t heed his warning. If anything, it’s like pouring gasoline on a flame.

“Are you fucking kidding me?” I curse, gripping the car door as he takes the turn to the underground parking facility too fast.

The car screeches to a halt in its usual spot, next to the bike Kai always drives.

Jude turns off the engine, his eyes flaring as he turns to face me.

“I don’t want to hear about you with other men any more than you want to hear about me with other women. You push this and I’ll push back, so be very fucking careful, Viddy. You’re playing with the big boys now, not some small-town playground bullshit.”

Oh no, he fucking didn’t.

I undo my seatbelt, so livid my vision blurs for a minute with white-hot fury. I bank it, letting it turn my words into a weapon, melding them until they are sharp enough to draw blood.

Leaning toward him, I grab the collar of his T-shirt and pull him closer, placing my lips against the shell of his ear. “If the thought of another man’s tongue licking over the folds of my slick pussy pisses you off so much, perhaps you should have been man enough to do something about it sooner. Poor baby, did you really think I was going to wait for you to man up? You didn’t want to fuck me when I was just a girl, but you sure as shit can’t handle me as a woman,” I purr, shoving him hard enough that his head cracks against the window behind him.

I climb out of the car and slam the door closed, making my way to the elevators.

I don’t stop to see if he’s okay, my body is too charged with rage. I need an outlet and if I stay here that outlet will involve my fist and Jude’s face.

As the elevator slides open, an arm wraps itself around my waist and one hand goes over my mouth to prevent me from screaming. He needn’t have bothered. I don’t scream, and if I
