Return to Me (To Me Series #1) - Lucy Darling Page 0,17
if I don’t chase you that I’m never far from you.”
“Why? Why do you keep chasing me?” She looks at me again, her eyes filled with unshed tears.
“Fucking hell. They really messed with your head, didn't they?”
“Who?” Her eyebrows furrow together.
“Those worthless parents of yours.”
She swallows, not denying my words.
“First they wanted to control you. When they saw they were going to lose that battle then they left.”
She nods her head. “Pretty much.” One shoulder shrugs. Fucking stupid is what they were.
“You think I want to control you?” You don’t control someone like Mackenzie. You just grab hold and enjoy the ride. That fire inside of her is what compels you to get on. Why anyone would ever want to take that from her I’ll never understand. I just want to be a part of it.
“I don’t know what to think of you.” She reaches up, her finger trailing it along my jaw. I lean in to her touch. “I just know I’m in love with you.” I close my eyes, savoring her words. “That I’ve missed you so damn much and I didn't want to admit it because if I did, I'd have to come to terms with the fact that you might hurt me. Leave me.”
I move, pinning her to the sofa in my office. “I’d never leave you, Mackenzie. I love every part of you.” A tear escapes. I lean down, kissing it. Stopping it in its tracks. “I only want to take care of you. I don’t mean for that to be controlling. I just think it’s time someone took care of you.” I move down, kissing her cheek, then her neck. She turns her head, allowing her mouth to meet mine.
“You love me,” she says between kisses.
“I love you more than anything else in this fucking world.” I deepen the kiss. Claiming her mouth. Wanting to mark her in every way that I can.
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t you be sorry.” I sit back up, taking her with me. If I keep going I’m going to take her right here on the sofa in my office. Our first time will be in our bed at home. “Never be sorry. I’m more than happy to wait for you to find your way.”
“Next time stick to bulldozing into my life without invitation. Don’t wait for me to find my way. The last four days have been hell.”
“Told you I’d do anything you ask me to.” I stand with her in my arms.
“Where are we going?” she asks as I head out of my office. June jumps up from her desk, running over and hitting the button on the elevator for me.
“I’ll hold your calls, sir.” She does a salute. “I’ll let Jackson know you’re headed down.”
“I like her.” Mackenzie smiles as I step on to the elevator with her. She turns, hitting the button to the bottom floor for me. “You didn't tell me where we are going.”
“Home,” I inform her as I make my way toward the car, ignoring all the people looking at us.
“Home?” She lifts an eyebrow at me as I slide into the back of the SUV.
“Yes, home. You’ll love it.” I set her in my lap.
“How do you know?”
“I have my ways.” My hands roam over her body. “I also might have had your computer hacked.”
“Victor.” She smacks my chest.
“You said I can bulldoze,” I remind her. So what if I looked at her Pinterest board? I didn't even know what Pinterest was until her. It enlightened me to all kinds of shit about her.
“Tell me what you’ve been doing these past few days. I want to hear it.” She starts kissing my neck. Her fingers go to the top button of my shirt.
“Stalking you,” I admit. She gives me a small nip. My cock jerks against her.
“Your stalking turns me on.”
“That's a good thing, wife, because I have no plans to stop.”
“I wouldn't ask you to.” She leans up to bring her mouth to mine. “Husband.” With that single word, she’s given me everything I need in life.

Mackenzie
I breathe in Victor's scent. It was stupid to have run from him. I’m not sure I’d change it, though. He was right in letting me find my own way. To let me work through what I was feeling. It only made it so much more clear that this man loves me. That he’ll never leave me. I will never question his motives again.
“Are we almost there?” I ask. My tongue comes out to steal another taste
