The Reign Of Kings - Candice Wright Page 0,54

down with a sickening crack over the guy’s wrist and watch with satisfaction as he drops to the ground and starts crying.

“Well, that was anticlimactic,” I mumble, disappointed as I toss the wrench back on the bench.

“Hey, my name’s Reign.” I reach over to shake the older guy’s hand, who looks at me like I’ve just surprised the shit out of him.

“What the fuck is going on?” Priest roars from behind me, making the guy look up at him just as I give his hand a few pumps and drop it.

“I’m Kermit,” he replies to me before answering Priest. “Just some townie running his mouth. I was about to shut him down when Reign here took care of it for me.” He points to the guy on the floor who is now in the fetal position, weeping.

“Seriously?” I shake my head, almost feeling bad.

“Jesus, Reign, we leave you alone for five minutes,” Priest remarks with a shake of his head, as Saint picks the guy up by his neck and tosses him out of the garage. No lie, he just picks him up and throws him out of the garage like he weighs nothing.

Spinning around, he turns to face me with angry eyes.

“I am so turned on right now,” I admit, making him freeze. He tries to fight it, but the anger melts away, the iciness in his eyes giving way to warmth.

“There is no fucking in my garage!” Kermit yells, breaking the spell.

“What are you doing in here anyway? We’re supposed to be going out for breakfast,” Priest asks.

“We are, I was just being nosy.”

“Are you looking for a job?” Kermit questions, looking me over in an assessing fashion.

Is he serious?

“Hell yeah!” I answer.

“I didn’t take you for an answering the phone kind of girl, but if it makes you happy.” Saint shrugs. “Plus, it’s on Carnage property, so it’s safe.”

“Yes, what could possibly happen here?” I answer sarcastically, referring to the guy that just got tossed out.

Kermit ignores them both and just focuses on me.

“You know cars? Are you any good at fixing them?” he questions, making me want to lean over and kiss the guy.

“I’m the best,” I reply and it’s not a boast, I really am that good.

“Wait, hold on a second, Reign, I’m not trying to be a dick here, but—” I cut Priest off before he can continue.

“I’m going to stop you there, before I end up shoving that wrench somewhere the sun don’t shine,” I warn him. “I’m a certified mechanic and I have a degree in mechanical engineering. I’ve worked in garages my whole life.”

“Good enough for me. You’re hired. You can start next Monday. That will give you time to settle in.” Kermit turns and walks away, leaving me with Saint and Priest. I stand with my hands on my hips and growl.

“Why do men assume that having tits means that I can’t fix their cars, huh?” I snap.

Saint holds his hands up in capitulation, but not Priest. He just crosses his arms over his chest and glares back at me.

“You know, you sure are a mouthy little thing,” he mentions as I walk toward him, swaying my hips.

“You aren’t telling me anything I don’t already know,” I reply.

“You need to learn your place, Reign,” he all but growls at me.

I shake my head before lifting on my tiptoes and whispering in his ear.

“And you need to learn how quickly I can strip that pretty little bike of yours.”

“Nobody touches my bike but me.”

I shrug. “Fine by me. Saint, let’s go eat, I’m starving.”

Saint just shakes his head in amusement, indicating for me to go ahead of him, but Priest holds his arm out in front of me, halting my movements.

“The MC world is different from what you’re used to, Reign,” he grits out.

“I know. If we were in my world, I’d have already cut your brakes,” I answer, then walk back out into the bright sun to the sound of Saint’s laughter.

Chapter Twenty-One

Priest

I watch Saint pull away with Reign wrapped tightly around him on the back of his bike and feel a spark of jealousy that he gets to feel her hot little pussy pressed against him instead of me.

“You know she’s right. I get it, it’s a man’s world, especially here in the MC, but times are changing, my friend. If you keep trying to push her into becoming what you think makes the ideal old lady, you’ll miss out on what she actually can bring to the table.
