The Reign Of Kings - Candice Wright Page 0,50

my nice clean panties are as wet as I am. Pulling back, he holds me out in front of him, my feet dangling in the air like a child’s.

“I’m an asshole,” he tells me.

“I know.” I figured that out already, big guy.

“I can be a dick.”

“Say it ain’t so,” I joke.

“I’m different. I don’t always think like the others.”

I stop joking, realizing this is about as vulnerable as Bates gets, and in his roundabout way, this is him apologizing.

“Different is good. It keeps things exciting. The world would be a pretty boring place if we were all the same.”

“And, you’ll learn to love it.”

“I’m sure I will, princess.” I tap him on the chest when he smiles big and toothy at me, making my eyes narrow at him.

“Wait a minute, what are we talking about now?” I ask warily.

“Taking my cock in your ass. Trust me, you’ll learn to love it,” he says, making me sigh.

“You were doing so well.” I reach between us and twist both his nipples hard, making him drop me. I’d have fallen on my ass if it wasn’t for Priest’s hands grabbing my hips.

“Fuck!” Bates roars.

“You are lucky I didn’t twist your balls. If you try to shove that thing inside me, you’d better be prepared for me to return the favor with a Louisville slugger,” I snap, while Saint sits on the bed, helping himself to the food Bates brought up for me.

Bates shakes his head, but he wisely doesn’t say anything else. I see that look in his eyes, though. He thrives on a challenge, and that’s what I’ve made myself yet again. I’m going to need to get my shit together before I find myself impaled on the top of his totem pole.

I finish off the sandwich Saint so kindly left for me and fill the guys in on my stalker as I eat, answering their questions as best I can.

“I still don’t understand how this Derek guy ties into this,” Bates says from the foot of the bed where my feet are resting in his lap.

“He said you were family. And he was talking to someone on the phone once before about you all, but he didn’t say the name of the person he was talking to.” I don’t mention the part about sucking dick, not wanting to add fuel to the fire.

“I don’t know what’s going on or who he was talking to, but it felt like he was checking in. So whoever it is, must see you regularly to be able to report back to him.”

Unsurprisingly, none of them look happy at that.

“Look, I get it, especially with everything going on with him right now, but Derek’s been good to me. And if it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t be here with you guys now,” I point out, making the tension lesson a little, but not much, and I can’t say I blame them. Knowing that they have someone watching them and feeding info back to an unknown person wouldn’t sit well with me either.

“When he wakes up, I’m going to want to talk to this Derek person myself,” Priest says, waiting for me to protest, but I have no reason to say no.

“Okay, I think that’s fair.”

I yawn, and Bates squeezes my feet.

“I think it’s time for you to get some rest,” he says gruffly. I don’t argue, mainly because another yawn follows on the tail of the first one.

“Okay, I’ll um… see you guys in the morning?” It comes out more of a question than a statement.

“We have a lot to fill the guys in on, so we’ll get out of your hair. Tomorrow we’ll introduce you to everyone.” Priest tucks a strand of hair behind my ear before all three of them climb from their spots on the bed.

Sliding to the end of the mattress, I stand up too so I can lock the door behind them, but end up plowing into Bates’s chest when I don’t notice he hasn’t moved.

I watch as he slips his cut off and places it on the end of the bed before he pulls his T-shirt up over his head and places it on top of his cut.

I stare at him in confusion for a second. Okay, I eye fuck him for a second.

One ab, two abs, three abs, four. Five abs, six abs, seven abs, more.

Bates, sensing my distraction, whips my T-shirt over my head, making me squeal and leaving me standing in nothing more than a tiny pair
