turns ugly, “you said you were from LA, right? We have a chapter out that way. If you agree not to fight this, I’ll have my guys look into this police captain for you and I’ll also put a couple of men on your brothers. I’m going out on a limb doing that, mind you. Most MC members are wary of cops and with good reason,” I tell her, surprising myself and the others.
She searches my eyes for the truth. As she’ll come to learn, I’m many things, but a liar isn’t one of them.
“You’ll keep them safe?” she questions, chewing her bottom lip and glancing around at the others before settling back on me.
And that’s when I know I have her right where I want her. Any self-preservation she has will be sacrificed for the sake of her family. It’s an admirable trait and will serve her well at Carnage. I’m an asshole for playing on her weakness, but I didn’t become the president because I’m a nice guy.
“I swear it. But,” I pause, making sure she’s listening, “that means you go all in. These lips,” I run a fingertip over her mouth, pulling her bottom lip free from her teeth, “this body, this pussy is ours and ours alone. We will take you alone and together and you won’t deny us.” I cover her mouth with mine briefly when she starts to object.
“We won’t force you. We’ll give you time to adjust.” I flick my eyes to Bates in warning, knowing patience is not one of his virtues. “I don’t have to offer you anything, I certainly don’t have to go out on a limb for your brothers, but I have a feeling you’re worth the headache. All you have to do is give in. You feel this electricity between us all. I know you do, just don’t fight it because I promise you, Reign, you won’t win.”
She doesn’t question whether I’m serious or not, sensing this is not something I would say lightly. “Okay, Priest,” she says quietly, “I’ll stay. I’ll be your old lady and whatever the hell that entails if you keep my dad and brothers safe. That’s all that really matters to me anyway.”
Saint cups her jaw, turning her attention back to him. “That you think that, pisses me off. But we have all the time in the world to show you differently. Now tell me where we’re going to collect your things from, so we can get you settled in,” he coaxes softly.
“Everything I have is in my car, parked across the street,” she admits, reaching her hand into her bra and pulling out a single car key.
“No alarm?” Bates, who had been quietly watching everything unfold, asks as he reaches for the key.
She shakes her head and sighs. “No, trust me, its looks alone are enough of a deterrent from stealing it.”
“Now that’s a crying shame. A fine ass woman like you should be driving something sleek and sexy,” I tease, trying to lighten the mood for now.
“Well, it’s funny you should say that. Back home, I have…” She trails off, looking away when she realizes it’s not home anymore.
“When it’s safe, we’ll send for it,” I promise her. She looks at me, gratitude in her eyes with perhaps a hint of sadness.
“Come on, let’s get your stuff.” Saint stands and reaches for her hand, tugging her up and off the bed.
She smooths down her hair, or tries to, but it’s a lost cause. I find I like it wild and untamed, much like her.
“This will be your room,” I inform her, feeling Saint’s and Bate’s eyes on me. With an old lady, we have no need for a boom room anymore.
“Really? Wow, it’s big, thanks. I guess I was worried that, you know—”
She hesitates as Bates interjects, pulling her from Saint’s grasp and tossing an arm around her shoulder. “That you’d be expected to share a bed with one of us? Oh, you won’t be sleeping alone, kitten, don’t worry. But we all have our own rooms and this is the fairest way of sharing you.”
“Like a toy being used in the playroom,” she mutters, looking away from him.
“Exactly,” he agrees, smiling and making me want to punch him. As appealing as that might be for him, it sounds shitty for her, even I have to admit that.
She scowls, shrugging off Bates’s arm, walking over to where I’m standing at the side of the bed. “Now that I’ve agreed to stay,
